They gave this infor here to run in 64 bit:
A: I launch mine it manually. Not sure if Steam uses x64 or x86 on my machine and didn't want to take a chance.

That is where the Exe is. use sots2.exe and not mars.exe. I added it to my Steam as a non-steam game so i can still use Steam's overlay.
for the stuck, try Ctrl/Alt-H or combination of those keys, it is supposedly the show/hid HUD shortcut.
Yeah....for those of us that are computer illiterate, how do I do this? I keep looking on my computer and steam but cannot find this file. Anyone able to help?
