I ordered from Amazon with 1 day shipping and yes it shows the arrival date as the 6th and the ship date as the 4th (yeah do the math).
Anyway I will let you know if they truely have it and shipped by tomorrow the 4th
I couldn't resist it either and got the 1 day shipping from Amazon too. Still less than going into a store and buying (dues to taxes). We can both post when we get our 'shipping' emails
Or I will cancel if they don't ship as advertised.
i'll probably get illed out for advocating this, but if you're hot to get it quick, then just go hit the local game store and beg and plead with the clerks to front you a copy.

Maybe check some of the bigger online French retailers and see if they have a date for the game yet?

I ordered my copy of HOI3 through GG DD and expect to be able to download it on the 4th, as if I were to have bought it from a vendor it would arrive before the 7th so I hope that I can Download it sometime tonight, otherwides I will be a bit dissappointed. Either way it would have been easier to explain to everyone that the game ships from vendors on the 4th and the release date is the 7th or maybe just that the release date is the 4th or the 7th.

Well, on the main video game website, they say it will be released on the 4th, but reading the official forum, I'm afraid the 4th is the old release date for France.
And even on the big french retailers as "fnac" or "micromania", I just can't see the game... Paradox is worth beeing better known!

Just to add my two pence worth.
If this follows any other major release, the shops will put it on the shelves as soon as they get it, they do not sit on stock of new games.
My experience of this was with FM2009 last October. People started being able to buy the game in shops at least 5 days before the official release date, however, the DRM servers did not go live until the official release date. Boy was there a lot of anger and pain on that forum (especailly as the DRM itself was a disaster as well. Most people could not get the game working until 48 hours after the official release date.
Many thanks to Paradox for not going down the DRM route.

Important, what about Gamersgate release and Line Islands on Kiribati? They're GMT+14. Will the game be available for download on Aug 7th there as well?
Yes, GamersGate download starts everywhere at the same time (barring the time zone differences).
