Without asking what dlcs are coming, what dlc DO you want to make.
I am pretty sure a Cold War DLC is planned, if look at how the surrender system and the coup system it is very much set up for proxy type wars. Which the cold war had quite a few. Also I have heard in the WWW's and other streams about how they talk about how the "post-war" is going to be but don't elaborate. There is also some info on the wiki about post-war, especially in the section for surrender, but doesn't give more than a "hint". Also late tech in the base game features Jet Aircraft and Tanks that were considered post-war. Plus if the game is as "moddable" as they claim, it would be very easy to expand on tech/focus tree's that could activate after certain event's are triggered.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go in to at least the 60's "maybe" the 70's. Definitely a couple of specific scenarios's (Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War?) but overall considering how long other PDS games span it wouldn't be implausible to see an HoI game go farther than 1948.
But certain things would have to be in place first, like espionage, and maybe a re-work/expansion on diplomacy, also the "space race" among other things. In the base game it looks like they touch base on rockets and ICBM technology, although "late-game" stuff hasn't really be previewed lately.
It all depends on the long term plans of HoI4, if it is like HoI3 we will get a few "big" expansion packs, a bunch of sprite/music packs and that's about it. If they plan to support it more like EU4/CK2, then we may see a large number of expansions/feature packs. A Cold War DLC that encompasses 1948-1991+ would be an undertaking and time consuming.
Although this is completely speculation, you never know.
