Claims! How do they work?

So, my wife has a weak claim on the absolute-cognatic Lombard kingdom, which is both:
1. Ruled by a 6 year old
2. Currently in a civil war to overthrow liege (refused to lower crown authority)

I would have thought either one of these scenarios would allow me to press her claim, but alas:

The option to do so is absent from the options to declare war. Would anyone have any idea as to why that might be the case?

I think it's because the heir is a male. If she's imprisoned, then you can press your claim.

Edit: Oh wait, it says absolute-cognatic. I read that but still posted this. Uh, idk then, maybe because your wife has a weak claim while there is still a close legitimate heir?

Just as an update, I've found a second absolute-cognatic kingdom that my wife also has a claim on and is also in a regency (it's the sibling you can see in the first picture of the first post), but the same thing is happening where I can only declare conquests and not claim the kingdom, so I'm guessing there's something up with how weak claims work with this mod maybe?

There's even a strong claim my wife has on a duchy that I can't press at all upon examination. Can I just not press the claims of females even though I enables Full status of women at game start and all relevant targets are absolute-cognatic?
