Awesome.

I was wondering when a wiki was going to appear. I'll try and help out where I can, though there are quite a few topics I am less than knowledgeable about.

Edit: I am seemingly unable to create an account on the wiki, says I need a confirmation code of some sort. I'll still try to contribute, but it could be more difficult for me now.
A confirmation code? Might be an issue with the CAPTCHA system we use; are you running NoScript or similar, as that might be blocking it.

Fantastic Idea. You should with permission of course have either a link to or a transfer of the mod list. Either that or even better your own mod list as not all mods are on the mod list in this forum.
We have a category for mods, though currently it is a bit sparsely populated. Feel free to make pages for any mods you know of.

Nothing. I did a quick Google search, and seems a common problem with new wikis. Incommpatibility with CAPTCHA codes form other wikis, or something like that.

Also, I wrote up the "Diseases" page. So don't get confused by the IP address in the changes.
Strange. Creating an account worked fine for me. Hopefully the issue will be resolved somehow. Perhaps I can create an account for you, and then give you the password, then you can change the password afterwards?

Saw the Diseases page; nice work.

Could you not use the mod list from this forum. just for starters? Maybe not with a description for each that should be up to the different Modders. But a list with links like the one on the forum would be nice. Especially since the forum tends to be quite long and it can be tedious to find mods from a description.
We'll definitely consider it.

Don't we have a CK2 wiki already? Either way this is a great idea if you can pull it off.
Yup.
My comment on that wiki:
Not as active, and uses Wikia rather than MediaWiki. Wikia is not as userfriendly as MediaWiki.
In addition, our wiki has no ads, and if any are ever added, they'll be non-intrusive.

This wiki looks much nicer than the wikia one. Would you compare the goal for this one to the EU3 one and having all the events and everything? Seems interesting to try and write something to put the events in a more readable form or at least a wiki displayable one.
I'm not sure that'd be feasible; Crusader Kings II has several thousand events.

I agree with PiemasterXL in awarding the Wiki contributors with kittens. Excellent work, I have whiled away much time reading Meneth's informative articles on the Wikia and look forward to helping with the Wiki in the future - Thank you!
If you haven't already, check out our CAPTCHAs. Rather than using the standard distorted text method, we instead have you pick out the cats from pictures of cats and dogs.
Apparently, it's the most effective CAPTCHA system that can be easily implemented into MediaWiki. Plus, it has cats.

"I have whiled away much time reading Meneth's informative articles on the Wikia"
All of those are on CKII Wiki as well.

Would you be opposed to a complete overhaul of the breeding guide on the wiki? DNA is only used for the appearance of a character, and there have been "number-crunching" studies on the inheritance of traits which would probably be better to use than your own personal experience.
Feel free to improve upon any page on the wiki.

I don't see the point. It's of no use in learning the game. For example the education page just gives a table of attributes, it wouldn't help a player make a decision about who they want to educate a child, it doesn't mention how to choose a guardian, or even that the player can choose the guardian. The rest of the wiki is similar. The construction page for example only mentions construction projects in baronies, nothing at all about cities or temples.

If a new player came to the game there'd be no way they could learn to play from this. So, is it meant to be a reference? It just seems to me that if you have to know the game to understand it then you'd know pretty much all of it already.
We plan on making a Beginner's Guide or similar. Feel free to make a start at one ;)

"The construction page for example only mentions construction projects in baronies, nothing at all about cities or temples."
That page is in the process of being split into a page for each holding-type.

Is the wiki for educational/guide purposes only or might there be room for history about certain start dates, holdings, dynasties or should that stay on original Wikipedia?
That's probably better suited for Wikipedia yes.

The more people workin' on it, the merrier!

Would it be good to add character/'country' guides? Say, you're playing as Novgorod. What to do? My suggestion is to expand against the Pagans and eventually somehow get Kingdom of Rus so that you can work to establish the Russian Empire. Would that sorta thing be helpful, do ya'll reckon?
Definitely. We have a couple already actually: http://ckiiwiki.com/Category:Walkthrough

what happened to this wikis http://www.paradoxian.org/
It seems to have died, sadly. It hasn't been possible to register on it for months at the very least; can't remember the last time I saw registration open.

Great that you implanted a modding section !!!!
We hope to make it a repository of pretty much everything one needs to know in order to mod, lists of things like scopes, commands, and conditions, as well as specifics on each file that can be modded. We've got a decent start so far, but there's still a lot more that can be added.
