CKII: Conclave Pagan to Christian Easier?

I asked this question at the CKII subreddit did not get any real confirmation. Because of the favor system, is it easier for pagans to become Christians via favor to have a Catholic or Orthodox wife with a nearby ruler? Because I get really annoyed by the fact I have to send out my soldiers for a raiding party to get a conversion wife and get gold.

Well, favors cost money, sometimes a few hundred coins. The primary source of income for pagans is raiding, which you could just steal a wife by doing.

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, though.....

Theoretically it's easier.
In practice, christians rarely have high enough opinion of you to accept buying a favor, and if they do, it usually costs a few hundred gold.

Thanks for the replies guys. That kind of sucks that I can't have an easy way of converting from Christianity from Paganism as I want to create file that I can important EUIV for the Protestant Reformation.

You seem to have Rajas of India. With that you can convert to the religion of your capital by sacrificing 1000 prestige, if that's easier than finding a wife during a raid.

But first converting my pagan province to Christian is going to be hard to do.

You just need to take one Christian province, change capital county and done. Then you of course neeed to move your capital back (which is free asuming it is the de jure capital of your realm).
