Norwegian Normandy is quite easily solved by having Godwinson's troops start in the North with Hardrada. I'm not sure on the exact timeline but this might be a good idea to ensure the AI doesn't screw up embarking too much as well
Islam gets further divided than Sunni and Shia yes, but they were traits in ck2 for the different schools, just like the Buddhist schools. Which will allow Cordoba to be a caliphate under the Umayyads and Almohavrids. We've seen little about clan government, but I was more talking about the flavour that we haven't seen and so I assume gutted. They'll have to have hajj on release, but no word on decadence revolts in the dev diaries I've read. Berbers can also only raid via land not ship anymore which makes the barbary states alot weaker
So anything we haven't seen flavour on has been gutted then?
I see.
Well that's an awful lot of the game that's been gutted, rather than just not mentioned.
I guess the cultures of most of Europe have been gutted because we've not had any specific flavour on them. I guess that Spain had (until about a fortnight ago) been gutted because we'd not seen any flavour for it, until the stream.
Berbers *might* only be able to raid on land. Or there might be a cultural innovation specific to them that enables raiding by sea. I'd need to look more at cultures - oh, but wait, that's been "gutted" as well because we've not seen much flavour about them.
And there are more faiths under Islam now than there were schools in CK2, which will help enormously.
Decadence revolts *should* be gone, because it was ultimately a mechanic which didn't really work. If you knew how to handle it, it was mostly a non-issue once you got on top of it. When the AI didn't handle it, it usually just replaced the dynasty at the top with a new one, meaning that the old power block was still there, just under a different dynasty, it didn't really break things up like it was supposed to.
It was also strange having ultra-decadent Catholic dynasties be mostly unaffected by their decadence, but for an islamic one that slipped a bit to be risking being overthrown. It was even stranger to see northern European Islamic realms being overthrown by "riders from the wastelands" because the mechanic didn't seem to have taken into account that muslims don't all live on the edge of deserts.
