1. They shouldn't have said January at the earliest if they knew it wasn't happening, they should have then just said February. Even if it wasn't a delay it was still a bad idea to do that.
In what way did "mid-January at the earliest" not happen? It literally means nothing before mid-January - which is exactly what happened.
2. If anything newer games should be getting more attention than older games. The fact that the most recent game has had less new information than a game that came out in 2013 isn't good.
They really are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The number one complaint about CK2 was the volume of DLC. People moaned about "moneygrabbing Paradox" endlessly. So Paradox moved to a model of less-frequent but bigger DLC for CK3 - and people have switched to complaining that they're not getting DLC soon enough after launch.
