the reason i didn't vote for wards & wardens is because childhood/regencies has enough potential content, IMHO, for a larger expansion, rather than a smaller one

Went with villains & vagabonds. Probably would add a lot to playing a douchebag, mods & fun roleplay let's plays.

I do wish Paradox more frequently would add some minor events outside of dlc and thematic updates. Every month a few would already be fine. It would accumulate and add much needed flavor.

Why not all three together? There's not must be a big deal include this mechanics in a DLC pack like "life in middle ages"

And something with diplomacy and economics expansion must be interesting too

I think adding all three into a DLC (maybe call it "Council of the Realm"?) would be great, especially since the last DLC was rather light. I would also add a fourth called "Merchants & Diplomats" or something.

I just had an idea that would make Villains and Vagabonds more interesting to me.

What if the dread bar becomes split into positive and negative like opinion. That way if you are -100 you are a dreaded tyrant, but if you get +100 honor you become a beloved ruler.

I also was thinking about rulers after they die. For example, “Your dreadful mother has begun to be praised for how she ruled remembered as a champion of the people against corrupt nobles instead of a tyrant.” Or take a page from 1 Kings 12, “Your father ruled us with a heavy hand, lighten our load and we will serve you faithfully.”

It specifically states that it also sets focus on married life - not just random seduction events.
And that is something i am seriously interested in.

Also, with the devs focussing on Love & Lust it's likely they'd also look at the immediate problem of too frequent, nonsensical unfaithfulness.
While people in the middle ages were no certainly less horny than now, it doesn't make a lot of sense for your spouse with a good relationship with you and specifically chaste personality traits to be cheating as often as they do.

I am pretty certain they would have a look at that when they are already improving upon romantic/sexual relationships as game mechanics.

Wards and Wardens is a must have dlc. Child mortality should be way higher, Congenital traits need a nurf. Most importantly children should not be placeholder heirs and be reactive to player decisions. We simply need more family drama and a more family oriented "family hierarch" tree.

I feel like there is enough love in the game (seduce, romance, inc*st), and also a lot of "evil" things (tyranny, dread, executions), but children need attention
Despite being also a voter for W&W, I think Villainy and Virtue (I refuse the original name) just had the wrong pitch.

If it would have included a proper pitch of a chivalry/virtue system as an opposite of dread which rewards good deeds, it would be much higher and probably lead.

Although I see where you’re coming from I must disagree. The Wardens dlc is absolutely essential it might not add anything we haven’t had in ck2 but it will improve the core gameplay by a lot.

If we do wards and wardens, I hope for two things. Firstly the option to rescue prisoners captured in a raid, especially if they're your family and are married/betrothed. A mechanic where an in-law calls you to war to rescue their betrothed/spouse, and you either join or break the alliance. Equally, you call your in-law to war, and if they don't join they break the alliance, giving them an opinion penalty or something.
Secondly, either an option to let children marry for love, or an event that can fire where the child has found someone they love and ask your permission to marry. If you deny there's a chance they simply elope, unless you marry them off first or give them a good enough reason. Something to that effect. That would be all I want.

I vote for Villains and Vagabonds because I want to get more balance into "dread" and "tyranny." It's valuable to keep dread high and tyranny low, which turns everyone into even-handed but terrifying rulers. (I suppose that pushes rulers toward being "just," which was always the ideal in the middle ages.) I think it would be more interesting to force the player to make more tradeoffs between being loved and feared.

Children have received a steady drip of content over the years. In a normal playthrough, the player doesn't spend much time as a child, unless the previous character dies young. The player character's own children tend to be a distraction as is, once you have more than two or three. I'd be happy to get some interesting content for regencies, though. I'd like regencies to work more like they did in CK2, where it's vitally important to have a good regent ready for emergencies, but where there's a real tension between the de facto regent and the de jure ruler.

Love and Lust are covered well by existing mods, if you know where to find them. The spouse's prominent role on the council and in events in base CK3 is already a big improvement over CK2.

I went with L&L because its the most focused area of the game and has been sorely, sorely neglected.

I cant believe so many people chose W&W but whatever. Children dont really interest me as much as the other areas.
