Something like thay, yeah. Basically you can make characters you want to survive stronger and see them as rivals without doing a lot of console stuff as you would in vanillaAs far as I can tell it works like EUIV "lucky nation"? Basically it buffs some AIs to create stronger leaders, similar to how Charlie gets ludicrous martial? It's important to note this is an AI only thing (the player should never get it). Presumably the values would be tweaked to be balanced (well not balanced per say but something to that effect) to fit well with normal stat values in CK2+?[/spoiker]
The "lucky ruler" feature is one of the greatest little mechanisms in HIP, I'd say.
I use it a lot, to buff rulers according to my personal taste, either to create a real nemesis in late game that spices things up in terms of difficulty, or in order to strengthen the likelihood of fringe religions / cultures to survive. HIP un-influenced by the lucky ruler suffers (in my view) from a Eurocentrism (more holdings in Europe per dejure kingdom = disproportional availability of levies = Europe over-expanding in time's course) that severly threatens especially pagan religions. If I want the vikings to succeed and thus creating another "interesting" alternate history, then Ragnar's sons are getting the lucky rulers trait. If I want some Zoroastrian realm to have better chances persisting against the Abassids, they get this trait. If I want the Mongols to actually be a threat to Europe by actually reaching it, lucky ruler there you go.
I really think it's a neat mechanism. HIP also offers the possiblity to "randomly" distribute five lucky-ruler's over the map. One should note, that you can delete this trait when you feel this certain ruler has been lucky enough for a sufficient time. The only exception would be, if you are entangled in a war against said lucky-ruler. Also: this trait is inheritable. So you don't have to distribute it again, once said ruler of a particular religion / culture, that you want to buff, dies.
The good thing is, that if you don't like it, just don't distribute the trait. Nobody is forced to use it.
Why? You do realize it's turned on manually? Like YOU have to press the button, not the AI and not the game.If this is gonna be a thing, please at least make it a "supernatural only" event so the immersion-freaks like me who don't play wtih Sunset Invasion or M&M can turn it off![]()
That being said, if it can be disabled by gamerule, I'm not against it - I just don't want my interface cluttered with stuff I don't like.

I might as well add cheat menu for you guys...
without doing a lot of console stuff as you would in vanillaI understand why some people like it, e.g. to create a game where they compete against their chosen "nemesis"; but imo you could just open the console and cheat them some awesome stats, no?
Well, I personally don't like the "lucky ruler" feature that much, and I have the EU4 thing turned off every game.

DittoToo lazy to write my exact view on the matter, so I'll just shamelessly copy paste what I think on the matter too.
Challenge to Patient Trait:
-Scenario (Any):
“For the third time today, two farmers have come asking you to make a judgement on who owns seven piglets due to a faulty fence or some other such nonsense. How can anyone be expected to sit here and calmly deal with this when there are matters of the realm to attend to!”
- Option #1: “How dare you waste my time with this frivolity!”
- Results: Lose Patient trait, +3 Martial, +100 Prestige
- Option #2: “I can’t take it! I’m going to delegate some of this idiocy to others…”
- Results: Lose Patient trait, +2 Stewardship, +1 Diplomacy
- Option #3: “*Sigh* Okay, let’s go through this step by step…”
- Results: Gain Stressed trait, -100 Prestige
I'd say a 50% to get the Stressed trait for the third option, but otherwise I'm really looking forward to your propositions being implemented in the mod![]()
