How do cadet branches work in this mod?

if the dynasty is large enough (no idea about the exact number, could be 60 members) and your character is a ruler in a different realm than dynasty head, then at cost of prestige you can start a new dynasty

beware, CoA will be shit and name will be even worse so you'll have to work at it a bit.

I got a quick question. Can I use Flogi's building mod with CK2+? I know its not supported in anyway shape or form, but do anyone have any knowlagde if I can or cant use it? if theres a way to manually make it work, got a fair bit of modding experiance, but its quite a task to look through all the files to figure out. Hence me asking.

Would love to play with just a bit more building flavor in the game.

I have a question. I am playing as venice in v4.06 and have the overextended republic modifier (-20% tax income) while holding crete. Historicly this shouldn't be a problem but it is in ck2+. I can see why it is there, now I can't conquere England as amalfi for the byzantine empire, but still it is rather annoying if I want to stay in the mediteranian see. Where is the modifier located (so I can remove it from the game and help the crusaders take Jerusalem). I am grateful for any help and great mod to the developers. DEUS VULT.

Look for CK2Plus_misc_events.txt, around line 4700. Either remove the event, or adjust the value it checks for.

that, shouldn't be happening. venice to crete is less than the distance specified for that modifier
is venice your capital?

yes venice is still my capital, but I am playing with mods (all of which are confirmed to work with ck2+) : the new immersive events mod, a couple of mods which add a few artifacts to the game (mostly germanic and nordic), the anime portraits mod and Prestige Based Merchant Republic Elections (a mod which does what it's name promises only changing a few values)

OK I just continued with an autosave without other mods than ck2+ and the indian extention and I still have that modifier (with crete being the most distant city).
Come to think of it I don't think that modifier was there when I took crete only when I conquered asurf I noticed it. Maybe just maybe, (could be that I'm blind) but perhaps there is a problem with the modifier once you excede that radius once (with the problem of the modifier removing itself once you loose all teritory outside that range)

it was a triggered modifier that gets set/removed instantly, but that also means it's checked for every character every day. not good for performance.

I've never seen that event convert a province, either. Maybe you should make a bug report.

Pretty sure the game uses a random seed, so it wouldn't be surprising in that case. No idea if there's a way to force said random seed to change, but I can confirm that both the culture and religious version have worked for me in the past.

Question for you guys - What is the event ID to cause an empire to become the Carolingian Empire? I'm just messing around and jumping from Middle East to Europe, and I noticed that the Carolingian Empire never got founded, and most of europe is a giant Dutch Empire blob. I'd just like to change it to the Carolingian Empire, so it'll eventually collapse.

It's done by decision. (The events are just notices and don't actually do anything) It is in realm decisions under form_carolingian_empire

I'm aware, but it doesn't show up, oddly. Just wondering if anyone knows the event ID so I can force it to show up.
99% sure the decision requires you to be a karling, if not Charlemagne himself

Yeah, you have to be of the karling dynasty for it to even show up. Anyone else can form the HRE early, under the right circumstances. (The big one being owning three of: France, Lothringia, Saxony, Bavaria, Italy, Germany)
