Vanilla patch tomorrow (2.81) that fixes a bunch of bugs, including bug China-related bugs with the offmap government and the new Chinese government type.

Once that patch is out and there's a CK2+ compatch for it, I plan on doing a nice long and thorough run as a Han Chinese character on CK2+ and will report any JD-related feature bugs and such that I find.

Is it possible to continue a Version 4.07 BETA 2 Save with the Beta 3 Version or just start a new game with BETA 3?

I tried it as a test on a saved game I didn't care about. It does not as about a month of running the game, the game will freeze and crash. So the save will not work with BETA 3, like what the developers said. This is mainly because of some of the code changes which includes a map change as well.

How about adding a new game option: Slow-ball mode. It basically causes some process (e.g. a looping event which starts more, looping, events?) which serves no purpose other than to slow down the game, starting out negligibly but slowly reducing the game speed as time goes on until it becomes a tedious crawl. In addition it adds a decision which allows you to reset the slow-ball temporarily. This would allow players to get sudden burst of relief as the game speed increase would be a sudden noticeable jump, while the drop would be a slow, hard to notice progression. Another option might also exist to allow players to turn it off entirely if they preferred partway through a game without having to reset.

I realise that suggestions are meant to go in the suggestion thread, but tbh this is more of a joke than a proper suggestion anyway.

Brilliant suggestion @BrokenSky! :cool:
And it's easier to code than you'd think - for example, I just wrote code that works exactly like your idea in my latest submod test-version: Just have an event scope to all provinces, and fire an event for each of them that repeat themselves yearly, than repeat that first event yearly, too. Tada, you get a guaranteed slowdown that gets gradually worse over time, until you can barely move your mouse anymore.
Also, fun fact: If you fire ~1600 visible events for the player simultaneously, the game will crash - not immediately, but after a few seconds. Just enough time for you to realize what horrendous mistake you have made...
Coding is fun.

Yesterday I wrote about the most annoying errors regarding the Polans tribe. Today I would like to address minor issues regarding bookmark 1000:
- Boleslaw the Brave (ID 756): there is a bug associated with his brothers, he is two Mieszko - alive and dead, and should only be dead (from historical sources disappears before the year 1000); the same applies to Lambert and Swietopolk; if possible, remove the live Mieszko, Swietopolk and Lambert;
- I do not know where Wladywoj Piast comes from - brother Boleslav the Brave; he is not present in historical sources, he must be removed;
- if it is possible, it would be better if the main title of Boleslaw the Brave was the prince of the Polans;
- history of duchy of Lendians: in the historical sources two rulers of Lendians appear: Wysza and Wlodzislaw, the last one around 944; therefore Lech could be changed to Wysza and Lechosław to Wlodzislaw;
- it seems to me that in the bookmark 769 high chiefdom of Lendians it is too wide, I think that in the north the high chiefdom of Mazovians might appear, but this is a loose suggestion, because this period is completely lacking in this region.
Thank you in advance for considering my comments.

I'm starting to become annoyed with those who are having issues of the mod lagging down their game. If the game is slow, either lower settings, play the game without the mod, or just get a better computer if you are that desperate. The mod developers can't fix your slowness issue as that's the price for adding more content to a game that was not fully meant for it at the start. Yes, Paradox games are made to be mod-friendly but does not mean it will somehow make huge mods work like a beauty for everyone.

Long story short, mod developers cannot change how performance can be increase or decreased at the blink of an eye. Its all based on how much information needs to be processed. The only changes that can be made is on a user's side.

This message is not to hurt anyone but to explain the situation to those who do not understand.

That's not entirely true, there are ways to optimize but there is the concept of diminishing returns. The more we optimize the harder it gets and the lower the returns yield without outright removing things.

But this mod is already pretty optimized, AFAIK. There's only so much the devs can do - but people complain anyway

I will probably spend a few days optimising it, and I hope I'll hunt down the choke points at least. I doubt anymore overall speed can be gained.
