Do you know more or less when CK2 + will be out from the BETA stage for the newest patch and expansion ?
I suspect they are awaiting the next vanilla patch first, because currently checksums are still broken.

@vukica
Yes the new thread title fits pretty well ^^
Kudos to you guys for implementing my suggestions, also adjusting the borders of Münster etc, it really makes me happy to for the first time be able to look at the map and see my "home area" not being crudely distorted.
Some nitpicking though:
My suggestion pictures were probably a bit misleading: One of the arrows was indicating where the capital Göttingen would actually have been located, and thus why it would not even have been located in its old province of the same name. However, now you have moved the capital of Braunschweig (of the same name) to the (now only hypothetical) location of a Göttingen capital. That would not have been necessary, indeed it is now technically wrong :oops:
That is ofc really low priority, but you could just move it back to its old location in the next version, because nothing was wrong with its placement.
I'd also be more happy if instead of the Castle "Werl", the City "Soest" would appear alongside Paderborn (Temple) and Arnsberg (Castle) - in this case, I was looking at the 1066 bookmark. I don't know anything about history modding though and thus don't even know if this is possible. If it is, I petition you to consider it :)
And yeah this isn't the suggestion thread I know sorry...

I don't know if it's just me, but this update has made performance drop massively. Are y'all going to try doing anything to optimize the mod at all?

We actually try to streamline some files, but it's the engine that's slow. CK2+ actually doesn't add that much.

Yep. Good luck with that, but really CK2+ is more efficient already than many people realize, given its size.
Nevertheless, I also notice a slowdown with 2.8, and it's not like my submod is going to make it run faster... lately, it has even made me consider to not use India/Tibet in the future - at least until I can finally upgrade my machine.

Just a general, related question: Did anyone experience an improvement of game speed after switching to a newer/faster CPU (I'm still on a Phenom II X4 @3.2 Ghz)? Like, is it possible to avoid this slowdown by improving the (single-core) performance, or is this really a "software" bottleneck?

CK2 doesn't make good use of more than 1 core. I am pretty sure it does use more than one core, but it does so very poorly. fwiw I've never run into these slowdowns really and I use an i5-3570 for basically that exact reason since not many games make effective use of more cores. Well, not of the ones I play anyways.

Also I run the game + OS on an SSD, that has caused noticeable performance improvement as well.

Ah, good to know that slowdowns are not universal and hardware-dependent!
Well, I already upgraded to a SSD a while ago, and yeah it was an improvement. My current CPU has one of its cores running at 100% when I play the game, so I guess I am at the performance ceiling there. I mean, google says your CPU has a clockspeed of 3.4, which is not that much more; but your CPU model is from 2012 and mine from 2009, plus you got turbo up to 3.8 Ghz, which mine has not. Any of the newer CPUs have these turbos, which only reach their top speed if just one core is used - thus they're pretty ideal for CK2 ^^
Yeah, I have thought about this a lot already and suspected it, I just had no comparison with a better PC to verify that my assumptions were correct. So thanks for that, guess I can still make up my mind until Christmas ;)

I didn't have it running on my SSD so I suppose that was probably the reason for the huge slow down. It just felt like between the last version of CK2 and this one my performance went to poop for some inexplicable reason.

EDIT: Yeah, even while running it on an SSD it runs significantly slower than it did on the last update. Honestly, I don't really notice a difference between the two. It'll be smooth for like a few in game days and then it hangs up and this activity just keeps repeating. It really didn't behave like that on the last update and I have no idea why it's behaving like that now.

It's probably Tibet and the new Chinese shit running in the background. Don't expect an engine update to actually make somewhat good use of your CPU from Paradox anytime soon.

Bruh, with the most recent update, people have tested over and over and proven that the current version of CK2 is faster than when the game first came out.

That's not really an achievement. Oh well, it seems I was wrong. Still, the engine is a long way from actually being somewhat optimized.

You're doing a great job really. I have a great request for you. Change some rulers in the High Chiefdom of Polans:
1. Dobieslaw Choscisko - is a total fantasy; should be Leszek Popielid (source: Wincenty Kadłubek's chronicle - not very credible, but better than nothing);
2. Popiel I Chościsko - should be Popiel I Popielid (source: the chronicle of Wincenty Kadłubek), son of Leszek Popielid;
3. Popiel II Chościsko - should be Popiel II Popielid (source: Gallus Anonim's chronicle - more credible, because earlier), son of Popiel I Popielid, Popiel II Popielid had two sons unknown by name;
4. Piast Piast - change his father, of course he was not Popiel II, but Chościsko (source: chronicle of Gall Anonim).
The rest is correct.
Thank you in advance.
