game crashes to desktop when I select a character and try to start a game, specifically, during the "adapting history" load.


Managed to get the mod to work but now have a new problem, whenever I try and load a character I get an automatic CTD.

Guys did what version of CK2+ are you using - the official version from the thread or dev version from Github? That might be the source of your problem. I've checked github version yesterday and had the same problem (running with Hardcore Mode, Titular Tiles, Vanilla Hordes) as you. Then I tried official version from the first page of main CK2+ thread and everything worked fine.

EDIT: Assuming of course that you installed the mod in the documents folder not in the game folder - if you installed it in the game folder, then this is the source of your CTD problem

EDIT: Assuming of course that you installed the mod in the documents folder not in the game folder - if you installed it in the game folder, then this is the source of your CTD problem

Its in the game folder where I've installed the other mods I've used in the past, I have steam so I thought the documents folder was not the correct one...Will move it and see if that works, honest don't remember where i dl'd it from

You're not using ironman mode are you? There are issues with it even in vanilla.

-If I resign from an in-progress game and then try to load a save without first quitting and reloading CK2.
-If I have a save file loaded in the SP start screen and attempt to load a different save.
-Sometimes, the game 'hangs' on autosaves (it continues autosaving ad infinitum and the game is effectively crashed).

Do you get this crash when you select a character to play and press start? Or when you just launch the game and it crashes before getting to the main menu?

If its the first one, then it's probably wrong installation directory problem. Do you have CK2+ mod installed properly in Documents / Paradox Interactive / Crusader Kings 2 / mod folder (just like it is said in CK2+ installation instructions), NOT in the game folder? That usually causes Adapting History crash. If there is no mod folder there, you have to create it.

What are your computer specifications? It's a known issue, especially if you use and older / weaker machinery. I too have such problems, generaly after 3, max 4 savegame loads, during next load game crashes (same with switching save selection in saved games window), I don't know anythign about autosaves though. So it's rather an unfixable game / computer issue, especially since CK2+ adds tons of things which slow down the device even more.

Brief Summary of Issue:

Cannot build or have any upgrades for holdings except for the keep upgrade in the following provinces:

Every Altaic culture group province except Alan,
every African culture group province,
every North Germanic culture group province,
every Finno-Ugric culture group culture province except Hungarian.

That's most like an issue with Cultures and portraits revamp mod. Try to run CK2+ and Better Armies only and see if the problem still exists.

Not usre this is bug or something but I've got some weird stuff with republics in my current game... I've started in 1081 AD as usual, it's 1087 now and everything runs smoothly except one strange republic related "issue" - at some point a new republic of Gaeta appeared on the western coast of Italy and I was quite happy about that but just later I've noteced that Ancona is not working as a republic due some reason... It's still marked as Serene Republic, has a list of families and so, but ruler is not shown weared as doge anymore, his successor is his son and which is most important - Ancoa isn't shown in tradezones anymore, which means it's acting like a duchy now. Any idea why did this happen? I've noticed that Ancona has two provinces now intead of one, maybe something wrong with that? Or am I missing something?

It's shown on this screenshot. As you can see, Ancona doesn't have a tradezone, while still marked as Serene Republic. It's shown in republics list in savegame menu btw, so I have no idea what's wrong here. Never had such issue before.

Ehm... I've just started a clear 1081 AD campaign and noticed it's all the same right from the start... Republic of Gaeta already existing and Ancona doesn't have trade zone... Is it really mentioned to be like this?

It's shown on this screenshot. As you can see, Ancona doesn't have a tradezone, while still marked as Serene Republic. It's shown in republics list in savegame menu btw, so I have no idea what's wrong here. Never had such issue before.

It is probably just a matter of no trade posts being defined in the history files for Anacona.

Started a game in the 1319 start (Sweden), and it went smoothly for a year. On February 1320, I clicked on the Holy Orders tab and it crashed to desktop. Yikes! Comp. specs are pretty up to date - and I can run most of everything well.

This is how history file for Ancona looks like. It's clear that there is no tradepost there at Alexiad campaign start, I just wonder why CK2+ team decided to do so.

Hi!

I'm running 2.06.03 with the hotfix.
In the Recycled Units Pack with BLG optional module, there is a simple typo, which causes a CTD when the mod is run on Linux.
Line 20 of westernslavic_avatars.gfx states 'actorfile = "gfx\models\Muslim_Pikeman.xac"', but it should state 'actorfile = "gfx\models\Muslim_pikeman.xac"'.
The same thing is also true for the Recycled Units Pack without BLG.
Linux is case-sensitive, so the game can not find the required file, even though it is there.
When I change it everything seems to run fine.
Keep up the good work!

Add. Apparently CK2Plus/gfx/traits/Fian.tga should be CK2Plus/gfx/traits/fian.tga. Or line 54 of CK2Plus/interface/druidic.gfx should be corrected to Fian.tga.

P.S. For anyone running CK2+ with VIET: VIET_Assets/gfx/event_pictures/Marriage_Celtic.tga should be VIET_Assets/gfx/event_pictures/Marriage_celtic.tga.
