Ok ok ok. I just took over the Kingdom of Denmark. Previously I held the two Duchies of Ostergotland and Smaland. The elective laws there were Agnatic-Cognatic Gavelkind. The election laws in Denmark are Agnatic Elective. However, when I first took Denmark the nobles were set to elect the son of the last king that had just died as king, upon my death. For whatever reason they then choose to elect my eldest brother in his place. Along with that comes the two duchies, for whatever reason and they do not retain my eldest son as their inheritor. If this makes sense, could someone explain it to me?

Elective passes all titles if the election goes to someone in the same dynasty. Otherwise you'd end up losing most of your titles whenever you elected someone other than your eldest son.

Fixes and things. I haven't really had time to test fixed Separatist revolts so let me know how they work out.

1.32.25:
- If a child ruler is deposed in a faction revolt, the faction leader will now assume the throne.
- Vassal rulers can now only get random claims inside their realm.
- You will now be notified when another ruler receives a random claim to one of your titles.
- Fixed a bug that was preventing Separatist factions from forming.
- Added a new alternative scenario with its own module, 'Divided Muslims', courtesy of zeress. Scenario modules now have their own special tag, and a maximum of one scenario module should be used at any given time.
- More fixes and tweaks to the faction system.
- Female characters are now treated equally for the purposes of pressing claims and succession wars under the Gender Equality module.
- You will no longer be expected to reward supporters in minor civil wars (such as a single vassal revolting).

Wiz, you might want to take a peek at the battle events, as it currently stands, a lot of the positive events, like improving skill, improving education, and tech bonus to capital, actually gets penalties from positive traits like Genius and Quick, and bonuses from negative traits. That is mainly because whoever designed these events did not understand how MTTH modifiers work. Oddly enough, these modifiers are correct on the wounding/killed in action events, but incorrect on just about every other event.

No, you are incorrect. MTTH modifiers work differently for on_action events.

Less capturing does not have to do with the mod, its a result of the way commanders work since LoR. There's just a lot less commanders involved in any given battle.

There's nothing I can do about de jure drift except turn it off. I guess I could make an optional module but it'd be incompatible with no assaults.

I guess that's one option, but what about modifying the victory conditions in these kind of CBs to require the attacker to control the whole territory (or at least most of it, like 51% or 75% or something) before declaring victory. I think that would solve other issues, as I outlined.

Not possible and would probably have some very undesirable outcomes if it was.

I tried making a Plunder casus belli before. In all my test runs, the AI really likes to spam it while ignoring claim or holy wars. After the plunder truce expires, it immediately goes for plunder CB again.

Yep, this is the issue. It doesn't work with the AI.

Heresies really need a nerf. Second game and while the heresies were not as bad as they were in my first game, they still eventually took over some countries. Poland got taken over by the Waldens, the Byzantine empire got taken over by Iconoclasts, and the Abyssinians got taken over by Monophysite. France and Scotland also got a lot of Heresy but so far none of their leaders have it. I even had my own heretic problem, and even with chaplains with 20+ Learning it was very difficult stamping out the heresies. One had even managed to spread to three of my provinces before my Chaplain was able to convert it, and he had 22 learning.

I'm not seeing this at all. Heresy is supposed to behave somewhat randomly, so maybe you just had a bad couple games?

More fixes and things.

1.32.26:
- Forming the Latin Empire now only requires Constantinople, but the title will be lost if the holder loses Constantinople.
- Characters who are released from prison due to being blinded or castrated should now automatically be pardoned of any righteous imprisonment causes.
- Illness and Pneumonia can now develop into blindness.
- Raised the base health of characters but increased the health penalties of illnesses, to try and cut down on early natural deaths.
- Added two new optional modules, 'No De Jure Drift' which turns off de jure drift and 'No Drift & No Assaults' which turns off both de jure drift and assaults. You should only use one of the 'No X' modules at any given time.
- A failed murder or kidnapping attempt that aborts the plot will now make that character immune to the same kind of plot for five years.
- Ruler designer Immortal trait should now work correctly.

Hey Wiz, since you're a real Wiz, a paradoxical Wiz who'll soon be able to Wiz in Paradox Studios, may you please answer my question?

If there were a simple mod to slow down the ship speeds to a more reasonable speed, would it affect the AI of anything in CK2+?

You can't change ship speeds. Changing movement speed on ocean doesn't work (believe me, I've tried).

I assumed. But why?

Also, I play CK2+ when I want a change from the heavy blobbing of Vanilla. CK2+, however, seems to think the cure to that is massive amounts of fracturing. It's nearly 1080 and France and the HRE have totally fallen apart, and show no signs of reforming. This is a silly solution.

Separatism is a work in progress. Are you sure that it's not just a fluke game though? In my current game it's 1250 with plenty of blobbing (I'm Livonia).

You can't directly control people wanting Separatism, its event driven by angry factions. I had planned to expand more on the internal politics of factions, but not sure I'll have time for it.

Hey Wiz, I just have a comment about the Plague in the mod. I just had it happen in my playthrough and it was kind of scary at first, but it quickly just went away and turned out to be nothing really to worry about.

To do a comparison of the casualty rates I suffered, there were about 410 living members in my dynasty when the Plague started and after it was finished there were about 380, so 30 dynasty members died. That's a casualty rate of about 7%, according to Wikipedia (Black Death) the actual death rate of the Plague was 30% to 60% of the population. So I really think it should be made more deadly.

I remember playing a version you put out a few months back which had what were described as "Apocalyptic" Plagues, now that version was scary! Nearly wiped out everyone... I think that you should aim for the plague to kill about half the characters in the game, that would be realistic and interesting, at the moment its not much worse then a bad outbreak of any other disease (Typhoid or Pneumonia, etc).

Due to the way plagues work in CK2, if I make it more deadly it will wipe out some places wholesale. It's a mechanics issue outside my control.

Okay, second game in a row that got trashed due to this... something is happening around 1380 that is rendering any savegames I make on or beyond that date unreadable by CK2.

They might be hogging all your memory. Tried the 2gb fix?

Wiz, I see in the new version with the "No Drift" option that this affects Empires as well. Is that intended? Because it means not being able to create any new De Jure Empires in the game, which doesn't seem to make much sense. Can you not set it so that Duchies and Kingdoms are static, but Empires can still form and have De Jure drift?

Because the problem is really only with Kingdoms (and maybe Duchies), not with Empires (since there's no CB for an outside force to capture a whole Empire).

I can't pick and choose, only turn it off entirely. I would turn it off for only kingdoms if I could.
