Well, shoot. Steam patched my game before I even knew there was a new patch-- and thus now I can't finish my Britannia Empire game. *sadface*

I'd prefer playing ck+ 1.02 for 1.04c if 1.05 has as many issues at it seems. It feels like there was a lot of ambition in this patch(Thank you Paradox!). Hopefully it will be mature in a few days or weeks.

Thanks Wiz!

I would prefer 1.04c version too as probably 1.05 will need more time to stabize considering the release condition.

My hat is off to Doomdark. If he can pull this off I'll eat it too :p -

Gamebreaking bugs will be eliminated but I think Crusades will remain as totally unbalanced mess even after the hotfix. That's why I favor one more update on 1.04c until things stabilize a little bit. The world in CK2+ with 1.04c was perfectly stable.

Seems like the hotfix did solve many issues. Therefore i support a 1.05 version.

Granting Kingdoms for Crusades sounds a bit extreme but I think it much better captures the effect of the First Crusade (and the intended results of the others). Attacking only a single Duchy at a time led to isolated holdings just waiting to be counter-attacked, and Crusades aren't called frequently enough to expand upon them. I say give this mechanic a chance and make changes later if necessary.

I would agree too. however, due to stupid steam constraints I cannot revert to previous game versions. that sucks.

on a sidenote, here's what happens when you add warrior cults back to pagans:

(to be honest, it's not up-to-date, Branderburg is now properly annexed, while Vitebsk and Volhynia were divided between Lithuanians and Estonians; that Lubeck is a rebelling Mecklemburg vassal)

Did you take away the bonus troop buildings first? If not I can imagine the pagans steamrolling people.

I think the thing that will capture the effect of First Crusade is weakened Fatimids. That's how Crusaders captured Jerusalem, Antioch, Edessa etc IRL. I agree that in 1.04c, Crusaders were underpowered, but still balance was not completely broken. Now, Crusaders are completely overpowered, usually wiping off muslims before the end of the game. Just run hands-off tests with a peaceful count.
