LittleJP,
It's both.

Noreaus,
They do form duchies and kingdoms, but the circumstances have to be right. If the primary title has gavelkind succession, an AI duke is very hesitant to form a second duchy. If they AI duke has conquered a second duchy and the requirement is lowered to two duchies to form a kingdom, then it will form a kingdom given enough money, piety, and time.

The problem for pagans of course is that they are at war quite often, and the AI in general spends its money on holding upgrades rather than saves enough to create a kingdom and enough duchies.

The AI never forms secondary duchies or kingdoms whether gavelkind or otherwise, it's not as noticeable in Vanilla because of different CB's which give duchy titles.

I don't know about duchies, but I have seen the AI create kingdoms on several occasions when the conditions were right (at peace, enough piety and gold, enough duchies).
For sure, the rate is way too low as it is.

One additional problem for this in CK2+ is the third duchy required. Especially for gavelkind realms, it can be difficult to acquire a third duchy through conquest or inheritance and the formation of duchies rarely or never happens.

I lowered the requirement to two duchies in my game and I have seen at least three kingdoms form since (Cornwall, Brittany, and Poland). I'm not sure how those realms acquired the second duchy, whether conquest, inheritance, or actual creation, but they did form king titles.

Oh man...can't you just read the last pages of this thread? I do not want to be rude...but people simply go here and ask questions like this when the last 10+ pages are full of discussion about the current state.

OK, for example - wrong succ_laws for pagans.

I read every page, but most of the complaints are about CoA's which frankly, I don't really care about, or other things like crashes, but my computer is fast enough to restart the game in less than a minute, I was asking specifically about balance. Sorry for offending you.

why doesn't the trait pregnant have any effects i though if a women was pregnant that it was harded to move and you threw up alot and you get tried quicker. you know? wouldn't it make sense if pregnant had effects on your status or i am just stupid?

no it's not vanilla behaviour because Rurick most of the time makes rus and the large duchy in sweden always makes the kingdom of sweden. i don't know maybe they just can't do it because of culture or money or enough land stuff like that

I am not offended...and I know you asked about balance. But we have been discussing it for a long time and the last pages do provide some info. But that does not matter. With the title creation being a vanilla issue, there are probably two major CK2+ ones.

1. Pagan conversion rates
2. Randomly switching succ_laws in created titles.

All in all, CK2+ works quite fine, except for the 867 start which is impacted by the above bugs the most (as it contains many Pagans and uncreated titles).

Guys please can you help me. I'm using CK2+ mod. And ...
My game is very slow after few decades. Is it because a I have a poor specs PC? Or something else is causing this problem?
On vanilla everything is fine, time is passing as it should.
Is there a solution for this?

OK, I have searched this thread and the forums and Google and I can't find anything about this problem that I'm having. It seems that CK2+ changes the way that tax laws work. That's OK, but right now I'm playing as a Count, and in the county laws screen, I can't change any of my tax laws; then when I hover over the Medium and High settings to find out what the requirements are, I get the following screen: http://i.imgur.com/JfU1EPT.jpg

1. I don't fully understand what "affected by a Crown Law title" means.
2. It says "One of the following must be true" but then it doesn't say anything after that. Is this a bug? What text is supposed to go there?

Thanks. Super confused right now.

Does the beta patch work with CK2+? And does it work with prior CK2+ save games? I just spent ages cobbling together the kingdom of Nicaea in Shattered World.

From what I've seen, it should be playable. Most changes seem to be directly to the executable or localization.

I'm working on integrating a few of the beta features for my next release, but current games will benefit from the most important changes anyway and wouldn't benefit from changes to the start either. New games do miss out on a couple things (scripted buildings and traits for a couple starts).

What tax and levy laws you can have in CK2+ is based on the crown authority affecting your realm. You're an independent count, so you have no crown authority affecting you and thus you're stuck with the minimum until you form or become part of a kingdom with higher CA.

Thank you! So the reason there is no text after "one of the following must be true" is that there simply are no conditions under which I could increase taxes. Makes sense now.
