I have CK2+ 1.33.19 one but still happened like that

To you and other with crash issues: have you edited the CK2.exe to handle more than 2GB of data? This is exactly what I forgot to do when I returned to playing CK2 and tried bigger mods. Had frequent crashes when autosaving, edited the CK2.exe, no more crashes since.

This happened in my game too and at the same time as the crash (around 1100). Also the vassal levies modifier broke, giving every possible vassal levy modifier at the same time. Every state seems then to be able to raise all its troops.

Interestingly, this did not happen to me when I played without saving/any reloads to get around the crash. I made it to around 1123, when I saved, killing the game. The only thing I noticed buggy about that game, was the character finder did not always show all characters.

To play with saving at all, I have to reboot my computer after a crash.

Edit: Using Windows 8, I've found I have to clear my cache's http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/0524d6/clearing-cache-in-windows-8/ - Game still going in 1112.

I haven't crashed yet, but I just started 1100 so maybe then. The vassal modifiers is broke as well, and the character finder doesn't even find characters (even though I typed my own character's name in). However, will your solution still work on Windows Vista?

I have no experience with Vista, im running Win 7 and it also worked on XP.

EDIT: but its worth a try.

And to my knowledge character finder is broken also in vanilla, and hard-coded to boot, so cannot be fixed by modders. People go missing in my games all the time.

Especially infants... err, I think its because they are so small.

I did this fix quite some time ago yet I'm getting constant crashing since the new patch. Sometimes when it autosaves, sometimes out of the blue. I can hardly make it more than a year without a CTD.

Aside from the random autosave CTD around ~1080, which I hear is unavoidable, I experience 0 crashes... weird.

Wait... So your saying that if You start at the 1081 start date, you do not crash at all?

Having the same problem. Vanilla game does not crash (monthly autosave). Unfortunately with Ck2+ it does since 1.33.19. If a savegame is needed I can offer it since this game will crash in the next few days.

What date is it? Is it past 1080- 1081? Cuz that's when i keep getting my crash on save.

The crash seems to happen around 15-20 years after you start the game. Most people start their games in 1066, so the game crashes at 1080. Ive comfirmed the game will crash regardless of the start date, tough I did see it crash faster in later dates, but that may just be luck.

Wiz, who is now a paradox employer, is aware of the issue and has managed to reproduce it in vanilla so the problem goes all the day down to the base game. Sadly this happened right in the easter season which is delaying any possible fixing. We just have to be patient.

- Current version is compatible with saves from all versions with the same middle number (all 1.33.XX are compatible with all other 1.33.XX, but NOT with 1.33.XX etc).

You may want to change that line

My current game is in the year 1327 and I'm having this issue. Started at 1066 though my game was at year 1326 when 1.092 came out. Only managed to play a year with all of the crashing.

Guys, as the save file gets larger, once it reaches a certain point, your game is going to crash. Because CK2+ has larger save files, it tends to crash sooner than vanilla. Wiz came out and said he confirmed the crashes on vanilla and it likely has something to do with a memory leak.

Basically, he said we'll have to wait until an official patch comes out to fix the leak....then the mod authors will have to adjust. I hope Wiz decides to patch CK2+ at least one more time...

Just going to bring this up again in case Wiz hasn't seen it: I started a vanilla game, fully patched, with autosave on. I'm currently at 1400 with zero problems...other than sheer boredom because it can't compare to CK2+. ;c)

Are we absolutely sure this problem is occurring in Vanilla? Any chance it was a random, unconnected crash that Wiz experienced?

I've reproduced the crash in vanilla, so it's not fixable without a real patch. Nothing to do but wait.

He said it himself. And he has access to the dev debug tools so I'd probably take his word for it
