Hi. New to this mod. Am playing as a french county under Aquitaine. Been playing för something close to 15 years now. I want to start a holy war, but it says I have no casus belli against any muslim state. Are vassals not able to start holy wars?

You have to be a certain distance from a muslim state, you cant holy war across the map anymore.

Looking for a bit of guidance from those who are knowledgeable...

I'm adjusting cb_types in vanilla to restrict the abuse of Holy Wars. I've already changed the CB so republics can't use the Holy War CB type. Can someone give me a bit of instruction on how to change the CB so it increases the piety cost, ie CK2+? Basically I want to mimic the slow progression of Holy Wars as does CK2+, without the sanctioning mechanic.

Thoughts?

I tried a hands off game of CK2, without saving. Turned off autosave, just to see if the game could function without saving at all. I got to around 1080 before it crashed, which is around where it crashed for me with hands-on, autosave games as well.

Now I'm trying a handsoff vanilla game, no autosaves, and I'm almost to 1300 with no problems. Haven't tried to save yet.

My next step is to try a handsoff vanilla game with autosaves and see if that works.

tl;dr: CK2 crashes even without autosaves, but Vanilla does not.

Thanks!

I just tried a manual save in Vanilla, 1282, and it worked fine. I'm about to turn on autosave.

Can I ask how you were able to recreate the crash in vanilla? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I don't know much about modding, but I do know a lot about beta testing, so happy to help!

Since its a memory problem that causes the crash, obviously if you pile more things on top of vanilla, its going to crash faster. Since not alot of people are reporting vanilla crashes, Im guessing just playing the game is not enough to make it crash. Wiz on the other hand likely knows how to make the game use more memory, which likely is the way to make it crash in vanilla.

Ah, that makes sense, I guess. I made it to 1350 with autosave on, Vanilla, before my dynasty got killed off, but I guess that's not as helpful as I had hoped. Looking forward to a fix!

Does the save crash only happen when overwriting saves (i.e., autosave), or does it just happen with saves in general?

Yes, when it autosaves each year that is when I crash. When it crashes in a autosave the save is corrupted. It won't let me reload the game from that save, but also if I go back a year the game crashes the next year anyways. I have to start a new game, this crash* kills the mod for now because it crashes/corrupts my game/save.

Hey guys just popped it to say that the mod is really good, however i have a problem

I am on OpenSUSE 12.2 Linux distro. And when activating the mod (Required) CK2+ 1.33.19 it doesnt load the game. Just nothing happens. However if unchecking the required mod and just checking the scenario mods the game launches and i can see the new scenarios.
Did anyone try this mod on linux?

I have CK2+ 1.33.19 one but still happened like that

What else do you have? Because whatever the other mod or mods you've got is breaking your game. Look into each mod folder and find the \common\defines.lua file. Make sure that it has:

-- Title creation and usurpation requirements
DEJURE_COUNTY_LIMIT_TO_CREATE = 0.6, -- Fraction of de jure counties that you must control to create a non-imperial title
DEJURE_COUNTY_LIMIT_TO_USURP = 0.6, -- Fraction of de jure counties that you must control to usurp a non-imperial title
EMPIRE_DEJURE_COUNTY_LIMIT_TO_CREATE = 0.8, -- Fraction of de jure counties that you must control to create an imperial title
EMPIRE_DEJURE_COUNTY_LIMIT_TO_USURP = 0.8 -- Fraction of de jure counties that you must control to usurp an imperial title

In it. If it doesn't have the DEJURE_COUNTY_LIMIT_TO_CREATE ratio defined, it will be set at 5000% by default. I pulled these lines directly from the ck2+ 1.33.19 \common\defines.lua folder. Look at your other mods and see which one is bad and either add these lines to it or delete it.

Linux is case sensitive, windows is not and there are some inconstistencies in CK2Plus files in regards to cases.
For example, file 1 references file "blahblah/Somefile.txt" but "Somefile.txt" is actually "somefile.txt", so everything crashes while the mod files are loading.

However, there's not a lot of files which have this error. Check out log.txt in your Paradox Interactive folder in Documents, it'll tell you which files are the problem, so just rename them accordingly.
Also, they're all referenced by the file /interface/settlements.gfx, so you need to change some paths there too.

After you do that, the game will start and as far as I can see everything's fine, although the log still says there's 2 files missing.
