Never heard such an issue before...Maybe it was something else the problem???

Which issue? The NIC one was because the NICs were hopelessly old and their manufacturers pulled the plug on support long before 64-bit (which is odd, considering that 10/100 NICs are still perfectly usable for most people today). As for the STALKER issue, its actually a common problem. The Audigy 2 driver is just really badly made.

that's why people buy 8 giga bundles with new p.c our days...cheaper more ram for use less stress for your work...

Yes, but cheap, plentiful RAM is only a recent phonomenon and one only limited to DDR3 computers, my computer is roughly ~7 years old and I spent $200 for 2 gigs of RAM. I have since upgraded to 6 gigs because I cannibalized another system that had DDR2 but not everyone has my luxury.

As for the STALKER issue, I later found out that it was due to a driver on STALKER itself that interacted very poorly with the Audigy. There is a fix out there, but I cba to open up my computer again.

Oh I thought you meant something else...Stalker issue was common back then yes...

When I moved to 64-bit Win 7 it ate roughly twice as much RAM as my old 32-bit Windows XP. Going from ~600 mb idle to 1.4 gb idle is a big jump, and thats with trimming down my OS. The average person's Windows 7 64-bit uses about 2 gigs.
The reason for this is that newer operatingsystems are smarter. They use the memory that is available for prefetching, then releases it when other software is in need for it. The more RAM you have installed, the more memory the OS uses. No use to have 8 GB of memory and only use 10% of it.

There is no reason not to use 64 bit OS nowadays, unless you require legacy hardware and software support.

But this seems to be getting off topic. :)

Also, not sure if this is related to this mod or vanilla, but noticed a small issue:

The tooltip to cancel an ambition reads that you will not be able to pick another one for 3 years. Yet when I cancel my ambition - I can pick another one immediately.

Vanilla issue.

I only really got into system building 2-3 years ago, so it's easy to take 64-bit support and DDR3 for granted. My bad, and sorry for the derail. :(

No need to be sorry mate...:) that's why we have the forums...;)

Is anyone here with CK2+ able to plot to take over Tradeposts playing as a Patrician? I read around on the forums and people were saying that to plot to take over TPs you had to go to the intrigue panel itself and select the plot from there. Furthermore you had to have a bordering TP. I fulfill all these criteria and yet I still can't plot. I'm trying to figure out if this is a bug in CK2+ or if there's something I'm doing wrong.
Bumping my own question a little.

Bumping my own question a little.

The plot is cut from CK2+ due to making rivalry between player and AI patrician families virtually nonexistant.

I'm not entirely sure it belongs in this thread, but how do I create the caliphate in the Shattered World scenario? I got over 1000 piety, and Jerusalem, Mecca, Damascus and all those counties are within my de jure realm, yet the option to create the title doesn't appear. Do I need to have the Sayyid trait or the Mirza one?

Look up the title via titlefinder, it should show you what you lack.

I'm not able to recreate your CTD. Are you playing latest version? Clean install? Tried 2gb fix? Tried clearing gfx cache? If none of those work, upload a save from before you crash.

Hey Wiz isnt it hard to work for a mod and for PDS at the same time?

Yeah, thus why the mod is taking the backseat and I'm pretty much just working down the 1.09 bugs and remaining half-finished bits before I put the mod on hold. I am winding down development, but I don't want to leave a buggy mod when I do.

Might have been mentioned already, but there are a few issues with various republics. At different start dates they switch out to being lead by "real" dukes or kings, ie char's without the little bands around their portraits to signify that they're Doges/etc. The "play" button is blurred out for these char's, and you get the old "can't play as republics" tooltip. There are also instances of repeated char's on the Republic selection screen. This is with a clean install of both vanilla and CKII+.

I've also had a lot of trouble with the Hansa - starting from the date they appear, while playing as any character in it, I get a CTD within about two months, unrepeatable with non-Hansa characters.

And though it should go without saying, thanks Wiz for keeping this up.
