But a lot of AI chars actually choose No Ambition (which for what I remember, was to reduce the number of them plotting all over the place because they didn't have anything else to do). Wouldn't the prestige loss make them not choose this as much? Or is this a player-only intended feature?

Player-only feature, and No Ambition is technically an ambition.

May I suggest a decision for pagan (including Romuva, Suomenusko etc.) rulers to convert to a religion in a neighbouring province? It was the trend in history and may provide interesting ways for kingdoms to develop(of course, denying conversion is always an option).

Yeah, this is in future plans.

One last tidbit from the dynamic title system then I will shut up about it, I promise.

A Byzantium that lets the Turks get far enough to control half of Nicaea will now be in trouble, as they will form Rum, replacing Nicaea and taking it and Armenia out of de jure Byzantium.

The Roman Empire is just a Titular Roman Empire that requires Rome, Italian or Sicilian culture, and the requisite 4 kingdom titles. It's basically some Italian going 'I am Rome reborn!' and nobody else paying much attention to him, at least not til a hundred years down the line.

With the new system I can add a ton of Empire titles since each of them really just amounts to a ruler proclaiming themselves The Emperor of X, and you have to realize those claims through de jure assimilation.

Hey Wiz, small issue I've noticed in my 1.12 game.

I'm playing as the Holy Roman Emperor, and while I was consolidating in Germany/France, the Muslims managed to overrun all of Spain, plus an incursion into Toulouse, which is what convinced me to smack them down. Anyway, a few decades later, I've managed to Holy War all of Spain back. Handed out titles to family members, and the Super Duke I was building in historical Castille managed to usurp/create the Kingdom of Leon. However, that Kingdom must have had appointed titles, and I didn't really notice until about a hundred years later, but it still has appointed titles to this day, despite being a Feudal, Christian Kingdom.

Very convenient for me when the descendants of that super duke later turned traitor, but I just wanted you know it's possible for the Christians to somehow acquire appointed titles like that. Of course, with your fancy new Kindoms/Empires system (which looks excellent btw), it might be a moot point.

Yeah, aware of it. Planning to fix for next version.

The Jewish Khazars should be either Agnatic Open or Agnatic Primogeniture (as historically it seemed to have drifted to being one or the other towards the latter half of their decline). They followed the same succession as the Gokturks.

Right now they are gavelkind.

Umm, shouldn't Khazars already be defeated in this time period? As far as I remember from history course they were absorbed and integrated by Cuman/Kipchak tribes.

Historically? Yes. But I think they make for an interesting enough gameplay addition that I'm willing to skirt history a bit. If the AI is running them they always get wiped early game anyway.

Bug:

My Chancellor was fabricating claims on a county in Wales. The count later on was captured in battle during a crusade and was being held in Mecca. I later got a message that my Chancellor was caught in Mecca fabricating claims and he was executed.

That's definitely a vanilla bug.

Okay, I'm having an issue running this mod. Its probably just me but I've got the mod to load on the load screen. I click the CK2+ mod and the endless timeframe mod. Then Start. But when I start the game it hasn't loaded. CAn play all my old saved games and Cannot play heathen lands.

Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong :)

Are you playing with steam? Did you follow instructions closely and make sure files ended up in all the right places?

Question: why if by some freak inheritance accident the King of Leon inherits Anjou and Vendome and instantly usurps the duchy after I declare de jure for my duke (right as he got his ass killed in some internal duke war, naturally) can I do jack shit about it? I now have a spot of tan in MY France and I literally can do nothing but press some random courtier's claim to 1 of the 2 counties.

Did you get rid of de jure counties in kingdoms? If so then need to be able to press de jure duchies.

EDIT: Also I can't press his heir (a duchess, naturally)'s claim for the duchy despite having Agnatic-Cognatic in France.

You need Medium Crown Authority to press Kingdom de jure claims, to prevent things like HRE conquering Holstein on day one. Why don't you press your courtier's claim? He will become your vassal holding that county, then you can usurp the Duchy...

Advice Needed:

So I had finally re-combined the Kingdom of Rus... and along the way, I took all of the Kingdoms of Volga and Crimea from the Cumans as well. I enjoyed great incomes, had ALL of my dukes/vassals at +50 or more opinion, and had Medium Crown Authority and Medium of every tax/levy. My king did not have good stats, nor especially great traits (no horrible ones either). My heir had GREAT stats, and all good or virtuous traits, in addition to being a duke with about 5 county demense. My 2nd son was cruel and greedy and ran a duchy of 3 poor counties.

When my king died, and my perfectly groomed heir took over, all of those vassals that were 50+ and some even 100+ opinion, dropped to -40 or worse and some even to -100. Of the roughly 40 duchies that were my vassals, just over 30 popped up immediately as "threatening to revolt." Within a week of taking over and before I could do anything to stop it, my greedy and cruel younger brother revolted and 4/5ths of my vassals sided with him. Needless to say I was pounded into oblivion in about 2 months and my younger brother usurped my Kingdom of Rus title. Leaving me with Volga and Crimea. Then within a week, nearly ALL of his vassals (the ones who sided with him vs. me a couple months ago) were begging me to join their war of independence against my brother.

WTF am I supposed to do here? I have the autosave to go back to right before my king died, so I can go back, but he's like 60 years old, and he's going to die eventually anyway. How am I supposed to stop this mass revolt, or at least make it less impossible to quell? I don't understand why they could love my lazy/content father with single-digit stats as king, but hate the strong/virtuous son with great stats and genius wife with 3 male sons already lined up to be heirs.

It doesn't look like my heir inherited much of my prestige (roughly 5k), and why on earth would they side with my shit-head brother who has like 4 of 7 deadly sins against me? Another thing I noticed was that several of my vassals hate the son for something the father did (raise to medium crown authority). I even tried to lower that crown authority in hopes that all those vassals would like me again, but they revolt long before the vote is in.

I know I should probably ask this in the main forum, but since I'm using this CK2+ mod, I figured it might be different enough from vanilla to make any answers I got there not as helpful. So... any suggestions?

What exactly are the source of your vassals grievances? Short reign would only give -10, so they have to be angry about something.

Wiz, I have done the analysis of education levels and types for CK2Plus save, to be found here.

Your new education system makes a difference in the required direction. Still, I would argue you can make the higher levels even more rare and up the percentage for 1st level. I see two possible outcomes to strive for. You could either go for 20% 30% 30% 20% for education levels respectively. This would model a sort of a bell curve, with middle outcomes being more common than the more extreme ones.

Another option would be to go for 35% 30% 20% 15% respectively - a stable downward trend resulting in the most characters getting level 1 education and the least level 4.

So, you are definitely on the right track, and the system that determines the outcome based on teacher's education level, and pupil's skill in the relevant attribute is a great idea. You could also add other modifiers to the equation - like certain traits and maybe a secondary attribute.

Thanks! I'm not sure if I agree that level 1 should be the most common, since the description of those traits seems to be of bumbling incompetence. I was actually aiming for making the level 2 and 3 traits about equally likely, and 1 and 4 to be unusual cases. Seems I still have a bit to go there.

Personally, I think 100 piety is pretty damn cheap for what just as often as a single county is a whole Duchy of 3-6 provinces. Contrast with the cost for fabricating a claim on a single county. I still think the piety cost has its place after the joining defensive wars change, since otherwise you'd still expand at breakneck pace the moment you got powerful enough to beat those alliances, and it helps the AI not lauch constant suicidal wars because it doesn't understand the system.

You should of course change your own version of the mod any way you please, whatever is the most fun for you.

EDIT: Also, consider increasing the probability of a county converting by the chaplain, while the chance was far to high previously, it's just nearly impossible to convert a province now.

It really isn't... you probably either have very low learning yourself, or your chaplain dislikes you. There's more factors at play than chaplain's learning, and I frequently get 6%+ conversion chances with a little careful councillor management.

Yes, that's a vanilla mechanic. You can swear allegiance to your de jure liege even if you are not independent.

Also, I agree on the province conversion rates. If heresies were as tame as vanilla this rate might be sufficient, but considering they can easily fly out of control I think a higher rate might be justifiable.

Provinces converting to heresies (or back) no longer affects moral authority in 1.15, so the snowball effect should be gone.

The idea of having characters grow in skill over time is neat on paper, but in practice it would be micromanagement hell to keep track of who your best advisors are, as Whitemage says. I would like to add the ability for characters to improve other education traits than the martial one, but it should be an exception and not the norm.

Hey Wiz, regarding what i said about the fighting the muslims in Iberia earlier..

Well my friend and i played some multipalyer. He played as Castille I as Leon. And well, we still couldnt hold back the Muslims. They push you out so fast and we were working together aswell. We toughed it out abit and went down to about 2 counties each. No matter what we tried we just simply could not retake any land what so ever in Iberia. Seriously like once youre pushed out its too hard to gain a foothold back in there.

Last couple games I have played, AI christians mostly unified Iberia, and I've conquered it myself as just the Duke of Barcelona a few versions back. I'm not sure what to tell you really, maybe Iberia is just too difficult at your current skill level?
