Sorry if this was asked already, but I searched through about 30 pages of this thread, the FAQ, etc.

With Gender Equality and a female muslim ruler, is it guaranteed game over if I don't have a male dynasty member to marry, therefore being forced to have children not of my dynasty?

Any way around this?

I'm not sure if this is Working As Designed or if its a vanilla bug or what, but I haven't encountered this before.

I changed my succession laws from Gavenkind to Elected Monarchy. The vassals that arn't electors HATE me, and the vassals that are electors LOVE me. We're talking -100 or +100 points.

I've come to notice that in the Shattered World mod, when the Wangchucks on Socotra marry a local (in this case, a Somalian) the children are either Mongol-portraited or occasionally Somalian as is normal. However, when reaching adulthood, these Somali-Mongolian characters with a Somalian portrait instead are invisible, and only show the background. I suspect it has something to do with the Mongol portraits. This is the only example I've seen, can anyone tell the root of the problem? Fixes?

- Characters who are released from prison due to being blinded or castrated should now automatically be pardoned of any righteous imprisonment causes.
- Illness and Pneumonia can now develop into blindness.

Just a suggestion; could you distinguish between being naturally blinded due to disease or due to your liege. It would be nice to see a piety boost to naturally blind characters and a rare 'prophetic visions' trait.

Wiz, I see in the new version with the "No Drift" option that this affects Empires as well. Is that intended? Because it means not being able to create any new De Jure Empires in the game, which doesn't seem to make much sense. Can you not set it so that Duchies and Kingdoms are static, but Empires can still form and have De Jure drift?

Because the problem is really only with Kingdoms (and maybe Duchies), not with Empires (since there's no CB for an outside force to capture a whole Empire).

The only time I've seen invisible characters (other than black boxes) has been with a typo in BLC/Lux Invicta's portraits.gfx file, with a semicolon instead of the proper colon. However I was under the impression that Wiz didn't use any portrait mods, are you using one yourself?

Okay, second game in a row that got trashed due to this... something is happening around 1380 that is rendering any savegames I make on or beyond that date unreadable by CK2.

Hey Wiz, I just have a comment about the Plague in the mod. I just had it happen in my playthrough and it was kind of scary at first, but it quickly just went away and turned out to be nothing really to worry about.

To do a comparison of the casualty rates I suffered, there were about 410 living members in my dynasty when the Plague started and after it was finished there were about 380, so 30 dynasty members died. That's a casualty rate of about 7%, according to Wikipedia (Black Death) the actual death rate of the Plague was 30% to 60% of the population. So I really think it should be made more deadly.

I remember playing a version you put out a few months back which had what were described as "Apocalyptic" Plagues, now that version was scary! Nearly wiped out everyone... I think that you should aim for the plague to kill about half the characters in the game, that would be realistic and interesting, at the moment its not much worse then a bad outbreak of any other disease (Typhoid or Pneumonia, etc).

Due to the way plagues work in CK2, if I make it more deadly it will wipe out some places wholesale. It's a mechanics issue outside my control.

I can't pick and choose, only turn it off entirely. I would turn it off for only kingdoms if I could.

2gb fix? Although I doubt it is memory, I have 6 gigs of memory and win7 64-bit... It goes from loading savegames just fine within 5 seconds around 1370 to completely unreadable in 1380. Every time I try to load a 1380+ game the game just hangs when it tries to load the savegame.

One thing to take into account is that infection rates among commoners and infection rates among noblemen are probably not similar, still, I had my own brush with the Black Death and I only noticed when it killed a lot of burgher vassals. I am a small kingdom and a severe wave of sickness kills about 6 people or so in my kingdom at the most, the Black Death killed in the neighborhood of 15-30, and it only infected half my lands.

CK2 can only access up to 2gb of memory unless you use the 2gb fix, and will behave in very bad ways if it runs out of memory. Check the FAQ linked in the OP.

I did read the FAQ, but the problems described by it never happened... It just goes from working perfectly fine pre-1380, to not loading savegames at all post-1380, and not loading savegames at all is all it does, I can load a pre-1380 savegame and play all the way through the 1400s without a problem.

But, the fix worked, thank you.

Basically memory issues are wildly varied, and issues with save games is one of the most common causes. I'll update the FAQ to reflect.
