There's nothing I can do about de jure drift except turn it off. I guess I could make an optional module but it'd be incompatible with no assaults.

Then, when the Mongols came and were bordering England-Norway's Russian territories, I think they must have attacked them with a "Mongol Invasion" CB, won that war and been given the whole of De Jure England, which included real-life England! So the Mongols, a country which previous to this barely even had a coastline, let alone a navy, are now in control of a whole country across the sea. I've played for about a year and there's no sign of the Golden Horde's position in England weakening (which you would think it would).

This surely can't be a desirable or realistic outcome for a war in Karelia. And it really highlights what I see as the flawed way in which "whole-Kingdom-conquering CBs" work in the mod. It's frankly way too easy for the attacker to win an invasion like this (Mongol invasions, Crusades and Jihads, etc.). I mean, when I had a Jihad for France (I'm the Sunni Caliph as well as the Emperor of the Maghreb) it was easy, all I had to do was win a few battles and capture about 6 counties (for a kingdom which was then 35 counties). Surely (at minimum) the attacker should have to capture every county in the target kingdom (if not every holding), that way at least Crusades and Jihads would be difficult, multi-year campaigns, not a walk over where you just have to win a few big battles and the whole place surrenders to you. If that kind of rule was applied the Mongols would never have been able to take England, because they were unable to land any troops there (the whole war seems to have been fought in Northern Russia).

I really think you should change something so this kind of thing can't happen.

It sounds to me like the real problem was that there was that De Jure change in the first place, England having De Jure so far apart makes no logical sense and is a weakness with the vanilla mechanics. Personally I've just turned off De Jure drift entirely, much as I like the idea in theory, it just doesn't work in practice, not without restrictions.

I guess that's one option, but what about modifying the victory conditions in these kind of CBs to require the attacker to control the whole territory (or at least most of it, like 51% or 75% or something) before declaring victory. I think that would solve other issues, as I outlined.

Not possible and would probably have some very undesirable outcomes if it was.

Trying to form the Latin empire, but I've run into a problem.

IfFcM.jpg

This is a direct vassal mode map, so you can see I own the required 6 provinces. The title being listed as --- suggests there's something gone wrong, however. Or is there just something I've missed about empire creation?

(Also, congrats on getting hired, Wiz!)

Wiz, I have an idea of new casus beli - plunder casus beli.

- The casus beli requires many prestige (for instance 200 for count, 300 for duke, 500 for king, 1000 for emperor) and/or piety (same numbers for example) and/or requires few traits - like tyrant, dishonorable, cruel.
- if you win, you get some money and your opponent's holdings lost few buildings (pillage) and your opponent and his family (or part of his family) became your prisoners. But of course your domain will not extend.
- white peace - you loss prestige, gold, piety
- defeat - you pay reparaition and you or part of your family became your opponet's prisoners.

I hope you could be interested to create this CB and to add this to your splendid mod.

Does the immortal trait still work in the latest versions?

I tried starting a game as an immortal count, but I died at the age of 84. Is the latest version still plagued by this problem?

I'm The king of ireland and i own all of ireland abit of scotland and most of wales. To become the emperor of Britain what do i have to get? Do i have to hold all crowns of britian to get it? does that include the king of the isle crown? Also i thought it was bad to hold more than one kingdom title for some reason so i didnt create the kingdom of wales title and now i cant because 4 of the counties are now dejure ireland

If you hover your cursor over the create button it should reveal the conditions.

I belive you'd need to hold at least 3 kingdom titles (doesn't need to be in the de jure area) and have at least half of all the counties of that empire.

I see, do you know is there is a list of all the requirements for each empire you can form?

thanks for the help

The only common culture shifts I can remember from the top of my head is that England either stays Anglo-Saxon if that culture remains in power and withstands both invasions, if the Normans take over they become English slowly, if the Norwegians are in power they slowly become Anglo-Norse.

I know that the Normans in Sicily at a certain point slowly become Sicilian, with some other derivations being there previously for Greek rulers, but I think that was changed to a common Sicilian culture because it led to weird results.

It sounds like a good idea to me, assuming it can actually be modded and assuming it's not overpowered. But yes, something like a "Raid" or "Plunder" type war would be historically accurate and would add something new to the game.

Oh also, Wiz do you know if the new Russian Portraits and Units DLCs are compatible with CK2+? If so I might get them.

The Russian portraits work just fine for me with CK2Plus. They're also very nice btw- great new hair, clothing, facial features for both genders. A few of the Russian female hairs were so nice, I actually added them on for the western females. Totally worth the cost in my opinion.
