Hi Wiz, how exactly did you implement the following change? It doesn't appear like it's dependant on the static_modifier.txt as no culture penalties apply after conquest while they are enabled in that file. Apart from learning the ropes I also would love to put them back in again. Could you help? Thanks!

EDIT: Think I found the values in defines.lua

EDIT 2L: Yes, I did. :)

- You no longer get any special occupation penalties for conquering provinces of the wrong religion/culture, instead there is merely the normal five-year occupation penalty. Hopefully this should make it possible for Crusades to actually take land without immediately losing it (and make it possible for William the Conqueror to hold on to England...) This change is very experimental, so let me know how it works out.

How can I play with the pagans and muslims now?

You select them on the map at the start like you would do with any other character.

CK2Plus for Crusader Kings 2 1.03b

- Reduced starting tech levels across the board but increased tech speed, as I felt tech distribution was rather off. Muslims and Byzantines will start at tech level 1-2 in 1066, while everyone else starts at 0.

A little confused about this.

Im seeing quite a few provinces with tech at levels much higher than 1-2. For instance Duchy of Apulia has several: Reggia 0-7-8, Lecce 2-7-6, ect

Using 0,25 without the empires.

It'd also allow for England to go to William II, instead of being passed on to Robert (who would still get Normandy).

So it seems like Orthodox bishops don't get the (Large) Church Tax opinion penalty if you play as a Catholic ruler (0.24). They still pay up, though. I guess it might be a vanilla thing?

Hey guys! I have integrated Death Causes into CK2Plus and so far it works.

If you are not in the know Death Causes is a nifty mod that adds in little traits that are indicative of how the character died, i.e. if they were assassinated, beheaded, ill, etc.

Here is the mediafire link. Just copy/extract the contents of the folder into your CK2Plus folder.

Another small idea: emperors should get relations penalties with the pope (especially if they have free investiture). That would allow them to be excommunicated easier, thereby weakening their hold on their territory, which is ideal, yes? It also models history well, as the HRE and the pope were often at odds.

Any plans to make more mercenaries with higher price/power than what is in mod now? Many times in game I want to hire a big army of mercenaries and have a lot of cash on hand but can only hire the default max ones which are not that expensive or powerful. Usually I just have to hire multiple max gold mercenaries. A higher tier of mercenaries would be nice like 250-450 gold with bigger army size!

In patch 1.04 they had switched William the Conqueror and Harolds Hardrada's faces, but your mod still has it as it was in 1.03.
I was playing 1.04 a lot today and have been keeping an eye on your mod for awhile and thought it might be worth it to try, since some of the balance issues in vanilla are a little annoying.

While I was playing as the 'new' William the Conqueror I was getting used to the moustache free face.
So when I decided to try your mod I noticed the old face was still there, which was disappointing. It seems like kind of a thing that shouldn't have been changed if it wasn't broken in the first place.

Also the checksum is now different, and usually that's how I tell everything is in order, is there any way you can display what the current checksum should be when you release new patches?

Other than these things the mod looks like it could be good, though I always fear running into crashing and freezing and contemplate whether it's worth it or not.

I've swapped the faces for next version, I just forgot to integrate that bit. And the checksum is different because you're playing a mod...

One quick nitpick, though it's probably vanilla related. For some reason my first son stopped being my heir and that title passed on to my second son. I wouldn't complain generally, but my eldest son is strong and quick and is turning out great, and my second one is a hunchback... Here are the screenshots:

As you can see my heir is my second son, bot are still minors:
01.jpg

My succession laws are primogeniture, my eldest son is not even it the line of succesion:
02.jpg

Here is my eldest son, as you can see he is not a bastard:
03.jpg

Any ideas what's going on? I'm using the latest version of CK2Plus?
