When the hell are you gonna get your own subforum? Sheesh.

Anyway sorry to say but 1.17 runs slower than hell, I thought it was because I tried setting EVENT_PROCESS_OFFSET to 15 instead of 20 just to see if it could handle it but I changed it back to 20 and it's still slow, probably at least 2-3 times as slow as 1.16 on max.

Paradox says they're not doing subforums anymore, but this week I am going to split up this thread into multiple threads and try to get a sticky.

Offer Vassalization is absolutely broken. I currently play Spanish Emperor whos empire size is over 300 and army 3x as big as whoever holds second biggest army.Holding ~70% of Iberia , whole France and Egypt. With prestige over 7k and piety over 1k.
Yet a poor little pathetic excuse for a "King" that rules 1 county sized "Kingdom of Navara" , he also likes me a lot (opinion:100) and we are of the same Dynasty which i am current head of.Yet he refuses to become my vassal i get a firm No ( He is a King --- base reluctance --) and zero "+". Makes no sense it is as perfect of condition's if there ever was one , if it is imposable to vassallize , than why have an option ? A Duke of Britanny refuses my Patronage also though he has max opinion of me and max power modifier.

Wiz do you have an opinion on this ? Or any plans on fixing that ?

Hardcoded. Take it up with Paradox.

Is there any way to influence ambitions like "befriend x", "get a lover", "get a lifestyle" etc. or is it just wait and hope some event happens?

For befriend, you need to get relations up to 100 so send a gift and/or your Chancellor/Court Chaplain.

For get a lover, introduce debutantes. Debutantes are 3x more likely to want to be your lover in the first couple years after being introduced. If you're trying to fall in love with your wife, send her gifts or give her an honorary title.

For get a lifestyle, do lifestyle things: Go hunting for hunter, throw feasts for hedonist, etc.

CK2Plus for Crusader Kings 2
- Culture-specific buildings will no longer be destroyed unless the culture of the province changes, although you will still be unable to build them unless you are of the appropriate culture.

So I setup as the Kingdom of Jerusalem after a crusade and then the Knights Hospitaller setup shop in Hebron. Problem is their Order House on the castle was destroyed three times without sieges happening to the province.

The only thing I could think is that because of the province flipping culturally and religiously that it kept destroying it? The Knights are on my province but not in my realm so I assume this is a bug?

hey wiz what are your thoughts on making the pagan conversion event based mainly off the religions moral authority rather than just straight up piety or even better a combonation of both ? kinda seems silly that its possible a pagan with thier religious moral autority in say the 60s could possible be converted by a weak catholic religion with thier MA hanging in the 40s

Well, it happened multiple times to me, but those are the steps all had in common:

- as a non muslim ruler, start a holy war against a muslim county
- win the war, you get the county. the succession law is now equal to that of your other holdings
- if you now hand out that county to a non-muslim courtier who has no holdings yet, the county with it's new count switches back to agnatic open

Hey Wiz, are you planning on doing something for Empires to be more 'versatile'? Because in my current York -> Brittania game somewhere along the line one of my heirs took up Welsh, so I had to edit the files to get Welsh longbowmen as well as to be able to actually create the empire. The de jure empires might've been silly, but at least they worked with most cultures.

The game crashes since 1.17 on a random year, but it is always the 15th day of a month. It could be 15th of July 1119 or 15th September 1253.
Before the crash I can hear the sound of a new event/message (rustling paper) and then the game just CTD.

I'm not able to complete any campaign since 1.17.

And it doesn't matter if I load a previous save, the campaign will allways crash on THAT day

Is there any way to make it easier to do assassination plots? Does anyone know what file(s) to edit to make the option for a murder plot as common as it was in vanilla? I love everything about CK2+ except that only once in a blue moon can I plot to assassinate rivals and dissidents. This may be awesome for multiplayer, where assassination plots are a bit overpowered, but not being able to do it any more in single player has taken a lot of the "edge" out of the game for me, especially when so many of my vassals are often plotting to kill me, and I can't even execute them after throwing them in jail without the whole kingdom crying foul.

EDIT: Also, heresies spread way too easily! I love how this game models heresy and even lets you be a heretic ruler compared to CK1, but the frequency of heresies is way too high. There was never a ruler from any of these Christian heresies (aside from Ethiopia) yet typically you see half of Europe going heretic by the late 12th-13th centuries, and many strong heretic monarchies. In one game I struggled to even find any catholic provinces left 150 years after starting the campaign. Maybe I just had some strange luck, but every single game I've played has seen the Reformation start 300 years early and it's led by Cathars. Waldensians. Any type of rare beasts. It turns the papacy and the whole religious order of Europe into a joke.

The game crashes since 1.17 on a random year, but it is always the 15th day of a month. It could be 15th of July 1119 or 15th September 1253.
Before the crash I can hear the sound of a new event/message (rustling paper) and then the game just CTD.
I had a similar CTD which cropped up occasionally since 1.15 - the rustling paper sound and then crash before the event could be displayed. It would happen repeatedly when I reloaded the last save, but when I reverted to an older autosave it didn't happen for another 50 years.

I had this in a previous version (I think 1.08) because of a Paradox patch that I did not know off. Had to end my game. Pretty frustrating.

I do have to say, I had a CTD in 1.17 yesterday. A successful crusade against Egypt made me the ruler, and naturally it took 4 years for the provinces to "adapt" and give revenue / levy's.
I don't know if related, but the moment the 4 years were up, I had a CTD. Luckely I had a save from a month or 2 before it happened. I restarted, reloaded and crossed my heart. Been playing for another 25 years after that, no CTD's since that one time. Hope it stays!

Playing 1.17 for a few days now, gone 60+ years in it. So far so good..
But some questions:

The pope started a crusade against Egypt, I was a count in Scotland at the time. I joined the crusade
The moment my armies landed in Al-Ameyn or whatever, I got a contribution score of 20%
Weird, maybe?
This happened during the Crusade of Arabia as well.

Another thing I wondered was how many Crusades there are, and what locations. (my first game actually participating in Crusades..)
In previous games I could only see crusades for Jerusalem, Egypt and Arabia because no one was able to hold them. I plan on changing the equation. I own Egypt and gave Arabia to a distant relative.
Where will Crusades pop up now? The holy land is far from safe.

Can I manipulate where the crusades will take place? I suspect having high enough learning will give some options with the Pope, or am I wrong?

Another observation I made, I used the character creator to make me a character with some great features. Strong and attractive.
At first it goes well, with 3 out of 5 children getting these attributes. Then its 1 out of 5, and then its gone completely. Take note I *am* marrying to people with the same good features, but even so, those people are almost completely gone...
After roughly ~60 years of game play there are very few people left in the world (as far as I can tell) with these good traits.
As far as I can find, it's the occasional Tall and Quick trait, but looking into their family history, it seems to be just a fluke.

Is it just bad luck or is there something wrong with the genetics? I read you implemented your own system for this.

Another thing I would like to add is the fact that there was a great sense of disunity between Muslin Emirs at the time. Maybe they shouldn't be so keen joining their brothers in faith because of negative factors between them?
