Playing 1.17 for a few days now, gone 60+ years in it. So far so good..
But some questions:
The pope started a crusade against Egypt, I was a count in Scotland at the time. I joined the crusade
The moment my armies landed in Al-Ameyn or whatever, I got a contribution score of 20%
Weird, maybe?
This happened during the Crusade of Arabia as well.
Another thing I wondered was how many Crusades there are, and what locations. (my first game actually participating in Crusades..)
In previous games I could only see crusades for Jerusalem, Egypt and Arabia because no one was able to hold them. I plan on changing the equation. I own Egypt and gave Arabia to a distant relative.
Where will Crusades pop up now? The holy land is far from safe.
Can I manipulate where the crusades will take place? I suspect having high enough learning will give some options with the Pope, or am I wrong?
Another observation I made, I used the character creator to make me a character with some great features. Strong and attractive.
At first it goes well, with 3 out of 5 children getting these attributes. Then its 1 out of 5, and then its gone completely. Take note I *am* marrying to people with the same good features, but even so, those people are almost completely gone...
After roughly ~60 years of game play there are very few people left in the world (as far as I can tell) with these good traits.
As far as I can find, it's the occasional Tall and Quick trait, but looking into their family history, it seems to be just a fluke.
Is it just bad luck or is there something wrong with the genetics? I read you implemented your own system for this.
