I feel like this mod solves that as a problem considering how much longer it takes to re-fill your levies. Once the initial army has been beaten there is very little point in raising a new army because chances are it will be very small.

At what difficulty level? That's not my experience playing on very hard - the AI levies increase very quickly.

I have been getting constant crashes since yesterday when I installed the newest version of CK2+ hotfix3

First I tried to play as the count who is a vassal of the pope. I was able to advance 5 years and then the game crashed, I reloaded and the game crashed on the same date.

I then tried to play as the duke of Palermo, could play for 50+ years when the game suddenly crashed again, tried to reload and the same date it crashed again.

Both times I tried to not do anything on the second reload but still it crashed.

Okay, done.

Though I only had the autosave file for Apulia

I've verified the crash, but it eludes all my usual attempts to figure out the cause. I've stripped the mod down to absolute barebones (2 files) but it continues to crash like clockwork, and since Clausewitz has zero error catching and completely useless logs there is no other way for me to track down the crash.

Which version was this game started on? I'm wondering if it could simply be a save game broken by version changes.

The head of religion needs to spend some piety to call a Crusade/Jihad so the start of them is a bit more randomized than vanilla's clockwork 1090 crusade.

Hello, I just discovered this mod and though to give it a try (I didn't yet try), however I would like it if you could provide to me and to other possible users what this mod changes. The changelog is rather big and not really informative about what are in sum all the changes. I looked the linked mod, which all seem fine, but what the mod in itself is proposing? Maybe you could consider too to write a manual, if there are mechanics you added but that weren't in the original game.

Also, are there any issues with the balance? (I kjnow in vanilla the ERE and HRE are a little too strong and the Fatimids are too united when the first crusade starts)

I'm probably going to look into writing a manual, but in my experience people don't have much trouble adjusting to CK2+ from CK2, since most of the mod's features are tweaks on or expansions to existing features. There's some exceptions like the ability to appoint Castellans, but you should be able to figure out how those work by simply reading the tooltips.

The features list and FAQ in the OP is a good start since it answers the most common questions people have when playing their first CK2+ game, other than that I recommend just jumping in and posting here if you have any issues/questions.

Purpose
The purpose of CK2+ is to create a broader, deeper, more challenging and more balanced CK2 experience, without straying too far from the original game mechanics or tacking on deterministic railroading events and modifiers. The purpose of this mod is not historical accuracy (although I try to preserve it whenever it is not a major detriment to gameplay) but rather to embrace and enrichen the medieval sandbox intrigue simulator that is CK2, while fixing its many niggling little issues and exploits.

I hope that answers your question.

This crash mystifies me. Which version was this game started on?
The newest version of the game. I use steam and it update automatic as you properly know.
I tried to delete the mod folder and download the latest version of the mod+hotfix, still the crash.

And it not only happened in my Apulia playthrough, as I said it also happened when I played as the count that start as the popes vassal (can't remember the name).

I have no idea why this happens.
But I was using CK2+ 1.05 before and could play until the end as Denmark just fine

That's most likely why then. Do a clean mod reinstall and start a new game.

Let me preface by saying I could be wrong but...

So am I correct in that you can play as Muslim states in this mod? Which you cannot do in the Vanilla game? I don't see anything in your notes about this so...

Are the mechanics the same as Christians states? Is it as well developed with events, etc as playing Christian states? How do the mechanics differ?

Yes, you can play as Muslims and Pagans (I will add that to features). They mostly use the same events, with a few differences. For instance, Muslims get a special crown law that allows free revokation of titles (representing the Iqba system) and can appoint a concubine that bears legitimate children.

Hey Wiz, odd little bug here. The Byzzie Kaiser lost a Depose Liege war, but failed to abdicate. The abdication wasn't just delayed, either; it never happened. I reloaded and replicated the problem ... maybe because he's in a regency?

General feedback on my 1.07 game. Crusades are working well. Kingdoms seem very stable but empires are chaotic as usual. I've still never seen a Christian Spain. The new West Africa areas were very quiet.

Great mod. I was having crashes as well but also didn't have a 'clean' mod dir (I'd installed over top of 1.06) so will restart and see what I can find.

One thing that I did notice, and I don't know if this is solvable, is that if I start at a date other than 1066 -- like, say I wanted to try Henry II in 1155 or 1165 -- everybody still has zero tech, and it doesn't seem to develop any faster. Is there a way around this? To have the mod figure out, okay, you're xyz years after 1066, maybe bump things up a little?

Ah, never mind. Just needed to delete the trigger = { } block in event 190064. Looks like the conditions don't hold because the war is already over.
