You do know that the Almovarids expanded into the Ghana region? Also there were trade happening between the african countries and the arabs.

View attachment 53347

Influnce of Almovarids didn't go further south past Morocco. And in the southern provinces of that country, their control was minimal and they lost that minimal control soon. ( as today modern morocco still doesn't have control over desert fighters of Polisario ). Anything below Morrocco doesn't have much Islamic influence and this is reflected by their dominant religion not being Islam. Both Islamic and later Spanish expansion into West Africa was limited to Morocco. Colonization of sub-saharan Africa mainly started after the age of discovery. In short, Saharan desert was such a strong barrier during Medieval Age that sub-Western Africa was almost completely isolated from both Muslims and Christians.

Really great mod, only thing i dont like now are the costs for pressing claims (200 gold/ 200 prestige) and than 100 prestige to declare war... i like beginning with a duchy, but so i have to wait 100 years before beginning a war... if i start as count i can start one war to press claims, but how on earth shoud i start a second one with this costs!? In an earlier version (1.04 i guess) pressing claims became more and more expansive by growing the empire; is there a way to rebuild this system on my own!?

I kinda have to agree with Darkspawn.
Caradog, the Earl of Gwent in 1066 historically fought in several wars for control of southern Wales. In my game as Caradog, I found it almost impossible to declare any wars and still have enough money to pay my troops, which Caradog obviously was able to in real life.

Of course, this could be fixed by giving Caradog a claim to Deheubarth and Glamorgan (?)...

Don't know if this has been discussed, but I'm noting that in all my recent games with at least 1.05+, all your efforts for slowing down the conquest of the pagans isn't really working in Sweden, and the regions around Mecklenburg because of the de jure cbs given to the swedish king, the HRE and the polish king. As these wars aren't counted as religous, other tribes doesn't join in to defend, and I haven't seen any pagan holy orders at all, playing three games watching the starting swedish king gobbling up like 5 counties in very short order. The HRE and Poland seems to go for their dejure pagans very quickly too.

As I'm no modder, I don't know how to change this, but since provinces now assimilate, maybe a solution be to attach the said counties/duchies to some uncreatable "Pagan lands/No man's land" Kingdom? Then you would need to crusade it, with all the woes of that, and have unruly pagans not recoqnising your legal rule for 100 years.

Any thoughts about this? have anyone else experienced this phenomen?

It's weird enough having an arab looking king of sicily or spain but now we might have black ones? I don't see the point unless you actually want to play in west africa.

Every game I played I tried to make the ruling dinasty brown, except for my current game where i'm trying to make every muslim in spain serbian. The ability to have a black emperor of scandinavia is something I wholeheartedly agree with. Maybe I like doing this things because Im a peruvian with mixed american/japanese/african/native heritage

Different strokes for different folks, I guess

Hm, so not an issue of crown authority then. I recall hearing that one could declare wars under medium or above authority, but, as you said in your problem, they would be declared 'indecisive' within a few days, hence my thought there.

The only thing I can see is that the condition "The King of France must be our Liege or a vassal of our liege." is not met (there's a red X at that condition), and so there's probably a loop problem. But then, how can a vassal declare war to another vassal from another Liege if not by passing through the King of France?

I think what I'm gonna do is not allow de jure wars on different religions, since its effectively a way of getting around the Holy War defense chains.
