I have played a few games with this mod, and I don't know if this is a bug or I am, just really unlucky but nearly half of the children born in my dynasty die before the age of 1 from pneumonia. After further testing it seems to be a fluke with certain bloodlines, I started as the Dutchy of Dyfed in Wales and I had 4 children all of which died of pneumonia, I managed to escape it by having a legitimized bastard. I also had this problem with Desmond in Ireland.

I think that mod affects the history files, instead of using in game events.
There are also in-game events, as the one that breaks up the kingdom of Sicily into Naples and Trinacria - de jure; the one that moves the duchy of Barcelona from France to Aragon if the Count of Barcelona is also a king, the ones that move the Pommeranian duchies slowly into the kingdom of Germany or the Frisian duchies into Lotharingia if the latter is formed.

And finally, there is a little nice event that forms Spain if various Spanish kingdoms are held, with corresponding de jure shifts. This is what it would be nice to have in CK2+, rather than silly empires like Iberia, Britannia and Scandinavia, there should be kingdoms that are formed as titular under certain hard conditions, and then enjoy some de jure duchy shift by event.

You are kinda unlucky. Still, it makes sense for small children to have a high mortality rate. Its the XI century, after all.. If it makes you feel any better: I only managed to have 1 son and like 6 daughters. Even worse: said son - my heir - has horrible stats. ;)

I find terrible sexy, it seem empire that should be kingdom during this time period.

I've been giving this some thought and shouldn't the unified Empire in Italy be called the Roman Empire? Or did you not do that because the HRE exists? I just think it would be more likely that if Italy managed to unify into an Empire they would resurrect the Roman one during this time period, which of course would have made things messy.

Are you sure? In this mod, it looks like there are events that cause shifts of de jure duchies. I personally would play CK2+ if there were only three empires: HRE, ERE and Latin.

It would be cool as well to have events that shift de jure counties into new duchies, so that we can have the duchies setup in Saxon England and then get it switched to the classical English setup if the Norman conquest succeeds.

But Closet Skeleton in that thread said it's not possible, I wonder why (the mechanics should be the same, why hasn't Paradox decided to de-hardcode it? have we really tried?).

P.S. I do not play CK2+ with the optional "no extra empires" submod because it even annoys me to watch those empires on the de jure empires mapmode.

Apparently it is possible to swap de jure lieges, looking at this mod. I still think the Emperor titles fill a function though, since they allow vassalization of Kings. It always seemed a little strange to me that people get so upset over alt-history Empires in a game that goes completely off the historical rails five minutes in. There's a lot of things that are possible in CK2 that were not in history, so why exactly is the Empire titles such a stickling point?

I don't follow. Are you talking about the piety loss on declaring war? Because it's just showing the regular declare war tooltip as it would have been shown for the aggressor. It doesn't apply to you.

I can't see crown authority and change it. Does anybody else have this issue?

Who are you playing as? If you are a King with a De Jure Emperor as your liege, your crown authority will be tied to his.

This is unlucky. Mortality rate of children is somewhere around 20-30% in this mod... you had a series of really bad rolls there.

Wiz, I think the castellan decision is bugged. I tried making a courtier of mine a castellan and it makes him, but doesn't allow me to grant him any lands; so essentially a castellan in title only with no function. :(

Uh, there is no way an honorary title would affect your ability to grant him landed titles so something else is wrong there.

Sorry, let me clarify; I thought the castellan decision allowed you to grant land to a courtier as a place holder until you yourself are able to hold that land. However, whenver I give someone that title, it does nothing; just says they're a castellan and nothing else.

Yes, you have to grant him the titles you want him to govern after you make him a Castellan. Then you can retake those titles at any time by dismissing him as a Castellan.

For example, if you want a Castellan to govern the County of Orleans for you, you:
1) Make him Castellan
2) Grant him Orleans
3) Use 'Dismiss Castellan' whenever you are ready to take back Orleans

About everything. If you say that it shows the tooltips as if I'm the agressor isn't it a bug in itself? Exacly what I get for offering help against a holy war - even it its nothing - would be a much more fitting tooltip.
Is it a vanilla thing? I barely played vanilla (beteween traveling for a week or so and waiting for your mod to work as flawlessy as possible :)

Look at the victory results. They're backwards. It says "if we win" and then says the king of norway looses a bunch of stuff and the Emir gains a bunch of stuff, despite the player joining in on the side of the king of norway. Likewise, it says "if we loose" then the king of Norway gains a bunch of prestige and money and the Emir looses said resources

It's like the tooltip is written for someone joining in on the ATTACKER's side rather than the defender's side like he was trying to do.

Yeah, because its showing the standard wardec tooltip from the perspective of the attacker. It's a bit silly (and definitely a vanilla thing) but not super weird or anything. It's just a tooltip issue anyhow, doesn't affect the actual war.
