CK2game.exe crashing before start-up?

I have steam and have logged 249 hours in CKII. I played it perfectly fine a month or so ago. I have not changed ANYTHING regarding it or downloaded any mods. I tried to launch it today and I get the error "CK2game.exe has stopped working" I tried checking the game cache and it said one file was missing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail, I even did a full clean install and still nothing. I tried reverifying my game cache and it again said I'm missing one file and again I get the error. Why is this happening all of a sudden and out of the blue?

I don't really think that's it, but if one file is missing it might be your antivirus prog quarantining ck2.exe. Do you have comodo by chance ? If so, see the stickied 'Known Issues 'thread.

Actually I HAD Comodo. I downloaded a file from softpedia and accidentally downloaded Comodo instead of Avast again and I uninstalled Comodo. So if I uninstalled Comodo and it still isn't working, then what?

That sounds like Comodo is still active, because it moves ck2.exe to its quarantine - which is why Steam always finds a missing file to fix. Are you 100% sure Comodo is uninstalled? Does ck2.exe exist in the Steam CK2 folder?
