The Greens
Lord Norbert of House Vance, Lord of Atranta, had five sons. His youngest, Jon, became a maester. His fourth, Ser Kirth the Clumsy, was so ravaged by gout that he never married and died without issue.
The third son, Ser Ellery, was married to lady Walda Rivers from the Crossing. After Ser Ellery’s execution she remarried to the Lord of Glitterdell as his second wife.
Ser Ellery’s daughter Tysane was married to Ser Jonald of House Hasty but was executed after it was discovered that her son was actually born a bastard. Ser Jonald later remarried.
Ser Ellery’s son, Ser Symond, was married to lady Bellena of House Roote. After Ser Symond’s death at the age of eight-and-twenty, lady Bellena took a man named Dagmer as her consort, a lowborn ironborn with an unknown parentage who previously already was a consort to an ironborn woman, Meredyth of House Towney, who was executed by the Queen herself for her attempt to murder her brother’s children.
Ser Symond’s only child, his daughter Hanna, is married to a northman knight of House Wells.
Lord Norbert’s second son, Ser Hugo, died from brothel sickness at the age of seven-and-fifty.
His daughters were married into respectable Houses (a scroll depicting his second daughter seems to be missing, your humble author begs your forgiveness and vows to scold an acolyte responsible for it).
Ser Hugo’s son, Ser Norbert, was also executed for trying to continue the nonsense his uncle Ser Ellery stirred. His widow Aleona of House Buckwell did not remarry and remains at Atranta with their daughter Wenella and son-in-law, Ser Karyl.
Lord Ronald the Bad, Lord Norbert’s oldest son, succeeded his father as Lord of Atranta in the year 303AC. Information on his first wife seems missing, but his second wife was a woman from House Fell. After Lord Ronald’s death she remarried to Ser Tancred of House Swygert only to later have an affair with Ser Tancred’s kinsman and liege that resulted in Ser Tancred’s violent outburst towards his offender and subsequent exile to the Westwatch-by-the-Bridge.
Lord Ronald’s both daughters married into respectable Houses.
His youngest son, Ser Gaston, was briefly married to the daughter of a temporary holder of the Cape of Eagles. They had a son together before Ser Gaston found out that there are, in fact, people who are more slick than Gaston and more quick than Gaston with a neck that’s a whole lot more thick than Gaston. He died in a tourney at the age of just three-and-twenty.
His son, Ser Willem, is married to Lady Helicent of House Fossoway (the green batch).
Lord Roland’s second son Petyr was married to lady Alys of House Varner. After their daughter’s tragic death a month after her wedding, he was arrested for attacking the groom-to-be in retaliation and sent to the Westwatch-by-the-Bridge. His wife later remarried.
Lord Roland’s eldest son, Lord Jeffory, succeeded his father as Lord of Atranta in the year 323AC. He was married to Lady Elyn of House Lowther.
All of their daughters are married into respectable Houses.
Lord Jeffory’s only son, poor Lord Otho, is the current Lord of Atrant. He is married to Lady Rosalind of House Just who often has to step into the regent’s role when her husband’s fits of madness become too much for him to handle. The pair’s oldest son, Ser Jeffory, is married to lady Maegelle of a minor house Albanese.
The Blacks
Lord Lucas of House Vance, Lord of Wayfarer’s Rest, was married twice. His first wife is lost to history, but his second wife was lady Cersei of House Broom, already a widow at the time of their marriage.
His only daughter, Lady Saranna, was married thrice. Her first husband and the father of her four children was Ser Elmer of House Lorch. After his tragic death she remarried to Lord Tywin of House Kenning, Lord of Kayce, as his fourth or fifth wife. After his death she came back home to Wayfarer’s Rest and quietly married Ser Raynard, a lowborn hedgeknight.
Lady Saranna’s second husband, Lord Tywin, the second of his name, was a peculiar fellow. For his love of one-on-one duels, especially the hand–to-hand one involving wrestling, and his habit to caress his opponent’s sore spots after their duels he became known as the Softharted Duelist.
He also was married four or five times, depending on one’s opinion on his third liaison.
His first wife, lady Orielle of House Payne, had an affair with another man. Lord Tywin, ever the softie, just petitioned for the annulment of their marriage and did not pursue any other retribution against either parties.
His second wife was Lady Rhonda of House Hewett. She died in the year 324AC under very questionable circumstances shortly after the arrival of a mysterious woman named Sharis who claimed to speak for the Valyrian gods of old and promised to give Lord Tywin a son.
The pair lived as husband and wife for some time, but failing to fulfill her “prophecy” “lady” Sharis was quietly disposed of two years later.
Next came Lady Alerie of House Hunt, but she died without issue from malignant ulcers.
And then it was Saranna’s turn, Lord Tywin’s final wife and widow.
Lady Saranna’s brother, Ser Jon, Lord Lucas’s second son, died in his bed in the year 327AC.
His younger son, Ser Samwell, is married to lady Gwenda of House Templeton. Their only son, Ser Wendel, is an acolyte here at the Citadel, well on his way to becoming a fellow maester.
Lord Jon’s elder son, Harys, was a master of Brookfoot castle before his exile, and his marriage life seems to be cursed. His first wife, Rosamund of House Darke, died shortly after their wedding from an unfortunate encounter with a stray dog she tried to bring inside. His second wife, Rowena of House Egen, was executed by Harys’ kinsman and liege for her plot to install Harys as Lord of Wayfarer’s Rest. Harys himself was exiled and his castle confiscated. He and his son Ser Jaime came to the court of Lord Roland of Runestone where Harys married Lythene, a lowborn woman he met along the way. She bore him his second son and then ran away with his first.
Ser Jaime is technically married to a lowborn woman named Serra that came with him and his father to Runestone. They have two children together. None of that stopped Ser Jaime, a known lecher and hedonist, from getting involved in an inappropriate relationship with his step-mother and fleeing with her to Lorath.
His daughter by Serra tries to distance herself from the family drama. She married Ser Raymond of House Erenford and hastily left for her husband’s family domain.
Ser Jaime’s brother Ser Quenton, Harys’ son by Lythene, also fled from the scandal. He is serving as a sellsword with The Maiden’s Men. Rumor has it that he recently married a pretty dothraki girl, a descendant of a legendary horselord, and that she is a follower of the Old Gods. People come up with the wildest of tales!
But let us leave the wive’s tales behind for now and have a look at Lord Lucas’s successor, his firstborn Lord Karyl, the first of his name. He was married to an unknown woman and maintained a long and open relationship with Lady Alysanne of House Bracken. He married Lady Alysanne as soon as he could. He also petitioned the Crown to have all of their children legitimized, which was granted.
All of Lord Karyl’s daughters from both of his marriages married into respectable houses.
His younger son, Ser Kermit, is technically married to lady Yolanda of House Grafton, but after she was found to be suffering from a brothel disease Ser Kermit left his home out of shame and humiliation and is now serving as a sellsword with the Second Sons. Their marriage is no more than a formality maintained out of respect to their son, Ser Tommen, who is deeply hurt by the whole situation and tends to hide from the world in his rooms.
Lord Karyl’s older son, Lord Jammos, succeeded him in the year 329AC. He was married to Lady Vanera of House Caswell.
Their only daughter, Lady Carellen, is married to Ser Gerold of House Barbrand.
Their youngest son, Ser Benedict, is married to lady Melara of House Lorch. He has been drowning his mind in all sorts of wine ever since the tragic death of his son.
The third son, Ser Petyr, is married to lady Leonella of House Moreland.
Lord Jammos was succeeded by his oldest son, Lord Karyl, the second of his name, in the year 350AC, but the new Lord died childless just five years later. His widow, Lady Walda of House Tully, remarried to the Lord of Stillfren, as his second wife.
The current Lord of Wayfarer’s Rest is Lord Edmure, Lord Jammos’ second son. He is married to Lady Liane of House Bracken and is assisted in all manners of governance by his twin brother, Ser Petyr.
