Was gifted CK2 yesterday, so I installed Steam and downloaded it and everything. Except when I try to start the game, immediately a window pops up saying the game has stopped working and has the usual 'close program' or 'close program and look online for solution' choices. After I close that window the game does continue to open up the start window. But when I push play the same error window comes up and then it does close down.
I tried starting it from the program file, but then it gives an error message that says 'can't find file d3dx9_41.dll. re-installing may fix the problem'.
I already reinstalled it, and verified game cache.
Any ideas what I need to do to fix it?
