I've googled and tried to find a solution but have come up with nothing.
I have a 144hz monitor. I can boot up CK2 just fine, no problem. But when I select "Start" from the in-game menu, suddenly everything goes wrong -- massive stuttering, it's like the game has slowed down by a factor of 100x. I have to wait 60 seconds for the selection panels to 'migrate' into the window so I can click "back" and exit out of it.
It certainly seems like this has something to do with running the game on a high-refresh level monitor, i.e. greater than 60hz.
The obvious solution -- setting my monitor to 60hz through the Nvidia control panel -- does not solve the problem. I've tried changing the refresh rate in the in-game settings -- this not only doesn't work, but it seems unable to 'remember' what I've selected (when I select 60hz and 'save,' and then go back, it shows '50hz'...great.). I've tried tweaking the Settings config file in various ways: 60hz, 120hz, 144hz, and then setting my monitor to match. Nothing works.
Is there a fix for this, or am I just SOL - ?
