No, the vassals are in it already. He has 12 vassals. The map mode was on the view that showed only the kingdoms.
Maybe are all Duke and Barons, and the county are all under the King.

Check out the Dev Diaries, particularly the second or third one (the map).
Vassal holding don't appear by default the way they did in CK, and the devs are trying very hard to make political mapmode obsolete. It's probable that CK2 will not have a political mapmode.
As for Galich, who said countries have to be contiguous?
Presumably the history files aren't done. There was a similar issue in the last video diary, where Harold Harefoot is technically England's second Harold but is numbered Harold I.
AFAIK nicknames won't be generated in-game.
I'm a bit surprised they've appeared at all in the videos. If I had to guess I'd say they're in the history files, Paradox's people will pick one for each historical character, and that non-historical characters (like most of your dynasty) won't get nicknamed.

Not being able to paint the world in your colour, or even not being able to watch your colour grow, is going to be difficult to get used to. I think they should make a political map. Let people play as they like. The more options you give, the better.
So it's a bit older video or the E3 is still going on?
Sorry guys, I can't see all the prettiness of the map you're talking about. I just can't pay attention to rivers or whatsit, when I see the mess counties in Poland are. That's all discounting all the blobbiness of provinces (I mean, the shapes, look like stains on a shirt, not administrative divisions).

Really?? ... seriously??. ... that county setup might not be to your liking means that you cannot appreciate ANYTHING about the map?? ... at all??
Provinces in CK2 do not really follow any "historical borders", as borders back then were not exactly 100% accurate, and we wanted to keep the vaguenes there.
Dear god I hope not. No Political map would be suicidal. it's what makes Paradox games so great. taking them out would be like taking out the ball out of the game of football. if thats true I do not understand that decision![]()

I know it's not only Poland, it's just the area I'm most familiar with, and as such, I notice the discrepancies first.
Being vague is one thing, and behing horrendously wrong on geographical and historical level is another. I mean, what in the name of sanity is Sambia doing up there? Why is province named Marienburg located where Konigsberg should really be (and is it Pregolya or Neman (alias Memel) flowing in that fake Sambia)? What happened to the lands near Noteć (alias Netz), aka southern reaches of Pomerania in Middle Ages? There's no province for them, not can they be accounted as lying in any remaining pommeranian provinces. I could go on, because it looks about as bad as it's possible.
If you want, I can send you a map I made a couple of weeks ago with more-or-less the same province number as the basic CK map, but way more accurate. I would only need to extend it to Prussia, and it'd be ready to go. Really, I want to help, for what I see in those screenshots is... poor.
Only thing that I cared to check was the first what you said Sambia... It is in a right place. Can you say how your image of Poland is right? Can you say where you read that? Mine come from most easiest place: wikipedia... Didnt bother to look up anymore about your post
