Wow, game is looking very pretty, very polished. This bodes well. That scroll speed was buttery smooth, but judging by how long it took to load as the King of Poland I pressume this was a stripped down demo. Either that or you're running it on an i9 I wasn't aware of.

Nice work Johan and company.

It was the full game, running of a standard 1 year old gaming rig.

why are the developers so keen on making terrain map the norm when alot of players prefer political?

I think it's time to clear up the confusion here a bit.

First off, there is a political map mode in the current build, and we will most likely keep it that way.

What we are trying to do however, is not really to improve terrain mapmode. Rather, we are trying to create the "One True Mapmode", which shows you what you need to know for the majority of the game. Right now, this mode shows the terrain, colored borders of realms and occupation by adding stripes. We've also added a red glow to provinces of persons which you are at war with, so this mode has also inherited parts of the diplomatic mapmode. As we get closer and closer to release, we will tweak this mapmode to show even more information if we feel it is needed.

This does not mean that we will remove any mapmode. Political will stay, diplomatic will stay and I wouldn't be surprised if we added a mapmode like "simplified terrain mode" from HoI3.

the map looks great! You've done so well! One thing though, is there a map mode where you can see the coat of arms of every duchy and courtier within your kingdom like in Ck1 when you turns COAs on?

Not in the current build, but we have mentioned a button somewhere which would toggle them.

The feature will probably be there once the game is released.
