I'm playing CK2 with all big DLCs, and most of the others. Game stalls (and recovers) with intervals after 200 years.
I started the game in 867 and the current year is 1081, so 214 years have passed.
Version: 1.111
I read that patch 1.08 includes:
"Optimized succession calculation, which could cause massive slowdowns in big dynasties with many landed members."
My House has grown quite large, so maybe this is the problem and the optimization was not sufficient?
2214 living members out of 4481. Quite a few are landed (I don't know how to check exact number).
At first I played on an 'older' computer, though still above specs. I thought that this might be the problem.
When playing this savegame on a brand new computer I get the same problems though.
If I set game speed to maximum, time flies very very fast as it should. Once in a while (quite often) it stops for a few seconds. Game interaction is not possible during this time. This only happens when time is passing.
I tried looking at resource monitor during gameplay, and it seems that it spikes to 100% CPU usage for the periods where the game stalls.
Specs on my newest computer are quite good:
I even tried making a RAM drive, and run CK2 from there with no effect.
I also tried doing a light OC to 4GHz but it still stalls and CPU usage goes to 100%.
