Ck2 lets you play mods in iron man mode, why not eu4?

What does any of this have to do with my Hong Kong example as an illustration of two events with the same result producing different perceptual experiences for the same person, while the original post I responded to was saying that willfully not reloading is equivalent to not being able to reload? There's a 1:1 relation between reloading and eating dinner, to the point where you can literally just replace the words with no loss of or change in the information conveyed.

Saying that I could have found a way to get dinner if I really wanted it is like saying that if I really wanted to reload, I could have hacked the Steam servers to alter my savegame. Come on.

You do not have to hack the steam servers. There was a legitimate and legal way to modify saved games that exploited how the games were saved. No modifications to steam or EU4 were necessary (which would have been illegal).

I am saying your perception of ironman is not completely correct (admittedly this is subjectively saying your opinion is incorrect), as it is an incomplete picture of the truth. You are basing your opinion on ironman with no knowledge of how it truly functions.

Sure you lose the ability to reload your game in 5 seconds. That does not stop you at all from reloading your game at all. Sure if you screw up and no nothing about how ironman works, you cannot reload, but you can just restart. In your example ironman and eating are not interchangeable as their implications are solely based upon your assumptions about what it would take to eat (nothing could allow you to eat) and the so called anti-cheating mechanism in place in ironman (that they can actually stop you without doing illegal things).

It is only your opinion that playing ironman with the assumed constraints of not reloading are A) true B) that they matter. Surely, if you can get yourself to believe that this is true, you can also get yourself to believe that non-ironman can have the same effect.

In both cases, you changing your opinion about what non-ironman/ironman can represent results in the same thing, the perception that your immediate decisions in game have irreversible consequences.

Personally, I think they should just leave ironman alone in regards to mods, but my perception of ironman is different than yours.

And I could have stolen dinner. None of this makes your argument any less laughable, so I'm just going to maintain my position of "come on."

The bottomline is Ironman was a much requested and supported mode, hence why it was included in EUIV and then expanded to CKII, and since there is no legitimate means to disable cheats without ironman enabled, it becomes a valid feature for those that prefer it. I would be perfectly happy if there was a checkbox in the options for game start that let's you disable/enable the console for the current game. Because even tho I hate cheating (exactly why I play ironman) when I don't have it enabled because I'm trying a mod, or wanted to import my CKII save, or just wanted an extra leader(Player Bonus in startup options) the temptation is always there when things go south. I don't want to have to worry about fighting a temptation, it's so much better when it's not there, especially in a game designed for my enjoyment.

My current game as France has gone 220 some odd years so far, it's been great, it's been fun, and I haven't been tempted to add 5000 gold because I can't, and I haven't been tempted to play stupid and pick fights I cannot win, because I can't afford to, and when things do go south I have no choice but to live with the consequences because I can't reload an earlier save. I really have to spend time and think over things before I act, weighing the pros and cons. That's four big yeses from me and I'm sure a lot of other people who also enjoy the mode. I haven't had such a blast playing EU in a longtime, and I really can't wait to try CKII's ironman.
