Despite all the stats, how did that give you enough troops to fight the Saffarids/Abbasids/Uber Hungary etc.? I just can't see how having high stats would magically give you the Mongol doomstacks you would likely need to accomplish that so fast.

Assassination plot from the game start took out the saffarids, fired, rebellion, usurp birjand, mass holy war the counts, Abbasids focused on the Tulunids then the Byzantines took Cilicia, they took it back, and then the Byzantines took it back, their levies were constantly drained.

Hungary got nerfed, their land gets destroyed when they settle down. It gets given to randomly generated peasant leaders of the culture and religion of all provinces they owned not in de jure hungary.

I Conquered my way through the Suomenusko and Tengri rulers before I took on the Abbasids for Mesopotamia.

I basically had luck on my side as well as stats.

Not sure if this counts or not because I used ruler designer with every trait set to 0. The bases of the stats are low it's just the traits that pump them up so much. I was having some real difficulty playing as the Karens so I decided to just say doodle it and see how fast a real Saoshyant could restore and further Sassanid rule to the world. Turns out if you have above 20 in every stat you can basically say toodle do to you to the entire world and disregard truces. You still get buttloads of prestige (I would have like 90,000 if not for the truce breakings. But holy wars, holy wars holy wars. God DAMN holy wars. The records I am going for (if this counts because lolrulerdesigner) are old gods start quickest Persian Empire, quickest zoroastrian restoration, most character piety. (Feel free to count it for more though if it breaks any other ones or sets them.) Started in place of the Karens with Ardeshir Sassanid IV, rightful heir to the empire of Persia and savior of the world.

878 11 20 Persian Empire (Blitzkriegs work so well in this patch, you just become an unstoppable steamroller once you cross the 20k troop count.)

881 6 20 Zoroastrian Church

15.2k Piety on Ardeshir IV Sassanid "The Saoshyant"

Very impressive. Still, one of the few rules here (as stated in the OP) is that ruler designed rulers aren't allowed to be used for the creation records. I am of course open for debate on this topic.

@Lessing
I haven't thought about this that way. "Fastest creation after destroying the existing one" is an aspect of the creation events I hadn't considered yet.

The thing is in my mind there should be a character that is connected to the Sassanid dynasty in the game, of course not with such extreme stats. But a Sassanid nevertheless, I just hate the Karens for some reason, if I had even a lick of modding skill I would have made my character directly linked to the Sassanid line and given a mother and father and sister etc etc. The ruler designer for me is a way to mod without having the technical savvy to actually do the modding. Ruler designer in and of itself doesn't make overpowered characters, as I could easily do this with the Karens given the only real stat that matters is martial. Vandad Karen starts with more than adequet martial score for me to do the exact same thing, however it would also require the same one in a million luck I got, everything went perfectly for me this game. The assassin plots fired quickly, everyone around me crumbled to rebellions, it was just a perfect game.

My main argument for the ruler designer being allowed in records is that it doesn't break the game any more than regular powergaming and metagaming does. If you know how to exploit the game you can conquer the world in 80 years. Plenty of people who hold these records are exploiting the game and the AI, why do ruler designed characters suddenly cross the line?

In my opinion the usual ruler designed character is much stronger than a historical one. Even if most of the historical characters have at least some of their stats generated you would hardly get one with several stats >20.

I'd have to lay out very specific rules for using the Ruler Designer and even then people who play with historical characters rather than ruler designed ones would mostly have a disadvantage.

And the Roman Empire by Feb.27.938. Probably not the fastest but I was having fun as Italy and was able to marry an Emperor's daughter:

Norse Reformation - Jan 26, 875. Started as Svithod. I got lucky and had Zeeland revolt, so I got the third holy site very easily. I could probably have manged it a year or three earlier, but my first ruler died, costing me some saved-up piety.

Romuva Reformation - July 15, 875. Starting as Lithuania.

Rushed for the holy sites. Used Subjugation on Arkona, then cut a path of county conquests to Bryansk.
