As of now there is no rule about save-scumming. Please propose something as I am very willing to add one. But this will be pretty hard to enforce.
OK, I thought it would fall under the "no cheating" rule. I don't particularly care, though.

He really must've reloaded a lot or spent most of the time in paused mode as he stated doing a WC in 82 years took him a couple of hundred hours, though ^^. I just wanted to add the record as 1) there was now fastest ducal WC before and 2) his end year is the one that came nearest to my 1141.
Save-Scumming is one thing, save-loading at times is another.
Why is all the hate?..

I've said that I loaded my game maybe a few times per year. I played my last years in 5-10 hours / year, doing thousands of actions in the meantime, forgetting lots of things etc.
Let's assume you put such a rule. How would you know?
Also there's a thousand cheesy ways out there.. I can finish the game with a million or more points.. Would that be counted or not?
Why is all the hate?..
I guess most of the people save-reload from time to time. If you do a complete play through and reload 5-6 times I wouldn't consider that cheating. Put this is of course only my opinion.
Personally, I don't think there's a difference. Either you take what the RNG throws at you, or you pick and choose to get better/more fun results. Either way is fine to play, but the latter doesn't make sense in a "competition".
No hate, everyone is free to play how they like. However, there should be some rules if a "record" is to have any meaning. What those rules should be is debatable.
What record? I am not here to record anything.. I am too old to worry for such things..
Feel free to erase my name from anywhere you can..
I just played a game and wrote my related experiences during my gameplay.
Later on, I thought it would be useful to share these, so I shared.
But to make a note, I can break every record here legitimately (and I guess there's many out there who can), without any save-load but using a thousand cheesy ways..
Would it be an accomplishment? Would I be a great man?
Or just an idiot who spent hundreds of hours to brag on a forum, which will be obsolete in a few years..
No hate, no hate at all. As I said above I do not consider reloading cheating per se. If I raise 200K levies after I declared three wars only to find out that I planned to declare a fourth one I might reload from my yearly save point to avoid having to disband and re-raise all those levies.
But to be frank reloading when a ruler died to prevent all the turmoil / have him rule some more years just takes away a lot of the challenge. Same thing with wars: If you reload when the big blob attacks you'll gain a big advantage. Even if it's doable to win that war you would have lost land, men and time.
You do, however, brag a lot
"But to make a note, I can break every record here legitimately" would be one. Most of bjorn1977's records will be pretty hard to beat. But feel free to try![]()
The fact is, this was my first game.. So what? I should've just restarted all the times I learned something new?
I feel like there should be a record up there for largest regnal number. My plan with the Dawn of Empires mod is to really test the system out by getting a Emperor Snag C (the 100th). It'd be interesting to see how high you can get in a vanilla game with the same named characters.
By abusing broken mechanics. There are ambitions for vassals that allow you to raise your stats infinitely. Only martial and learning are "normal" records.
I also said "many can do it".. It doesn't mean I am uber, it just means most of the records here are not so hard and the game has lots of cheese..
I checked bjorn1977's records, and guess all of them about formation of Kingdoms..
Well, unless bjorn1977 is Ben Johnson of CK2 who trained 10 years on the game, all could be done faster..
And many could do it..
Any Old Gods records you can think of?
COuld you please post a link in this thread to the new one. I'm looking forward to setting some records!
I guess many of the old ones would still apply; creation of kingdoms and empires (that are not there from the start or otherwise obviously easy) are some of my personal favorites![]()
