I am pretty sure the Inca are not conquered by them: Incas inventing gunpowder is what weakened the Aztecs in CK2 :p
Hellenic religion will most likely not be supported by the exporter ^_^; (as it is not supported by CK2 either)

You can select it in the ruler designer, so I certainly hope it will be supported.
I don't mind if it's as unsupported as it is in Ck2, I.E, generic religion.

And the Aztecs did stop the Incas using horses.

Thats because they didn't waste time on locking it. They said however that the religion is not supposed to be played with so it is not supported.

So lets hope the team will include a system with more then one culture or religion in one province.

Lets hope EU4 gets as many DLC's as CK2 did ;)
Still, it is not that necessary: you can make algorithms that make a plausible set-up... maybe even look at the fan converter for inspiration.

EU4 --> V2 would definitely make for the better game, but there would be no way to accuately convert POPs. EU4 only tracks one culture and one religion per province.

It would still be possible to create a culture/province setting in Vic by looking at the history files, I.E, which religions/cultures did this province have?, and for how many years?
I am sure you could get a reasonable province out of that.

As for the Nyrael, they bothered making it fully playable. I.E, holy sites, and religious settings, etc.
Just because it isn't on the map in the start, doesn't mean it's bad.

Just because it isn't on the map in the start, doesn't mean it's bad.

They randomly gave it the sites and settings (without even any attempts to balance them) as it is ridiculously easy to do. It has nothing to do with not being on the map at start either: the religion was simply thrown there without attempts to balance it, make it interesting, etc. And as I said, I am sure I remember THEM saying the religion is not supposed to be playable not will be given anything of worth. I repeat: thats not my opinion. Thats simple how it is: hellenism ain't supported by CK2 (yet?).

For the converter this is quite a major thing as for every of those Pagan religions you need to make a bunch of new features and events (and test&balance all of those) for all of those (do I need to mention that all costs money?). If Hellenism didn't get such treatment in CK2, it sure as hell won't in EU4 either. So don't get your hopes up for seeing your Hellenic empire work properly in EU4... or work at all.

It wasn't randomly, those sites are historical Hellenic sites.
I recognize the religion will probably have no special features and be similar to Animist in Eu3 for instance, but I really doubt they'd leave it out when it is a religion you can select and play, it wouldn't make sense.

In EUIV, you could start colonizing places in Africa that you couldn't yet at the beginning of Vicky II. That's something that never made sense for me. I don't think this conversion works or I think it'll be too hard for them but I still welcome it. They also need to close the gap between the games.

But CK to EU, not only makes sense but I think it'll be relatively easier to make. I will be disappointed if the converter isn't one of EU's pre-ordered converters.

I think you could sell the time gap between games as the reason things don't match 100% between what you see in EU and Vicky.

Considering it is called "CK2 exporter" i doubt it will be used for anything other than save game exporting. I just wonder how usable it will be (there was a save game exporter for one of the earlier games before the clausewitz engine. I'm not sure wich one but im pretty sure it didn't work that well :p)

There was an official CK -> EU2 converter brought in in a patch to EU2 after CK was released that added a bunch of tags, you ended up with way too many vassal states that all hated you after a WC so it led to an interesting game.

I think there was an official V -> HOI2 converter as well. That one was a bit borked because it calculated ICs in a really weird way so that a super rich nation in Vicky would be penniless in HOI2 if it wasn't built the right way.

I don't think there was ever an official EU2 -> V converter though, but there were plenty of mods.

There are a couple of megacampaign AARs, from back in the day:

But CK to EU, not only makes sense but I think it'll be relatively easier to make. I will be disappointed if the converter isn't one of EU's pre-ordered converters.

CK2 has around 2,000 tags that do not exist in EU4. What if I end a game of CK2 as the independent Duke of Kent? Kent doesn't exist as a separate country in EU4. Do I get annexed into England? Not exactly a great conversion.

A CK2 conversion would almost certainly destroy the balance of the game in EU4. EU4 relies on certain countries like Portugal to discover India and open new trade routes, for example. How often does a CK2 game end with a strong kingdom of Portugal though? Never, perhaps? With the Old Gods, it's not uncommon to have games where the Holy Roman Empire doesn't exist. It's not even uncommon to have games where France doesn't survive until the end. The truth is that a dedicated player can conquer the map in CK2 in 100-200 years, no problem. It would almost be impossible to have a naturally flowing game of CK2 that would result in a balanced, converted game to EU4.

Am I the only one thinks that CK2 Exporter is a silly idea?
Look how Europe looks when you finish the game.
It's completely destroyed by big blobs or conquered by Player Empire, or both. It's semi-random mess.
We have Pisa in Africa and England in Sweden. We have catholic Mongols in Russia.
Is this really how you want to start your Europa Universalis? :)

A mess is just a configuration you are not used to. In a way the historical layout of Europe is a mess as well.

I really don't care for converter. But as i see it, lets say you play France or someone in France in CK2, migrating to EU4 would set you in charge of France with updated borders and that's it. I guess that would be the easiest way.

Now for those ''broken'' games where player would conquer all of Europe as France and than continue playing EU4 as blue Europe with practically no challenge what so ever, well different strokes for different folks i guess and perhaps some need to experience to comprehend that game could be ''broken'' in such conditions...

And of-course this kind of converter thingy would be most appreciated by those who play CK2 and perhaps EU4 more ''histrionically'' accurate or let's say RPG-like, role playing and posing self restrictions and not creating mammoth countries with genius dynasties, that
X-Men would be proud of...
