I've released version 1.0.2, which fixes the issue with secondary titles not converting if they are the same rank as the primary. I tested using a file in which I have the titles E_britannia and E_HRE. Before fix, I lost HRE. After fix, I can confirm both titles are merged into "Great Britain". Thanks to Allmagne for the heads-up.

Luusydh, I'm now working on your issue #8, where player with a primary title at Duchy rank may convert into already-existing nation. I'll try to figure out a way to fix that in the next few days.

You could probably do something related to culture group. For example Orkney could work with Gotland, Kurland, other small scandinavian nations, etc. Small english counts, while not being Northumberland, could be converted into it so then its just a matter of localization. Just an idea.

Thanks for the fixing, now it's much better but still there are territorys that i loose in EU3, like Croatia (the county, not the country) to the HRE while i'm the the croatian king and i have all the territory, that"s the same with bohemian county i have all the countys and still the HRE gots one of them.

Now i think i gonna email you the save so you can see for your self the problem.

That's a really good idea, I hadn't thought of that. And in fact, I was planning to add culture groups as the next thing to convert. I think it would work well to combine that idea and my original, say it would pick a secondary title based on primary culture. I'll look into that in the next day or so.

I wish there was a way to have people vote on features.

That's more an issue with the provinces than the titles. Provinces are pretty easy to do right.

That said, Allmagne, your issue was with some provinces I did wrong. I've uploaded version 1.0.3 that fixes it. Using your save game (thank you!) I can confirm it's fixed.

For the province mapping, I automated most of the mappings using text dumps from the wiki and from the game files. Unfortunately, some of them didn't match correctly (although I did require a sanity check on all of them).

Any other issues will only be found by intrepid users such as yourselves trying it out and letting me know, so thank you. For what it's worth, every game I've converted has been perfect, due to my programming matching the paradigm of my game playing style - I subconsciously wrote to a game style other players may not use (like deciding NOT to create an empire). So that's why we need people testing it.

I've figured out how to do it and will implement in the next release, sometime in the next few days. I have a little girl turning 1 this weekend, so that's tying up a lot of free time.

That said, I've noticed that a lot of the save games emailed to me have been set in the early 1200's, but EU3 starts at the earliest in ~1400. While Quandrax doesn't force you to wait til end game, it does work a LOT BETTER if you do. EU3 assumes you're going to play as a nation - it forces you to. Your only options are empires (HRE etc), kingdoms (England etc.), and JUST A FEW powerful duchies (Brittany). SO obviously conversion is going to work better if you wait til closer to EU3's start time, and give your CK2 game time to coalesce into something more like EU3.

I'm not trying to be a programmer that blames problems on users - "The program is perfect, the users are buggy!". BUT I do want to remind everyone of the inherent limitations of EU3, and that Quandrax works pretty well if you take those into account. No, the Count of Dublin will never convert perfectly - but the King of Ireland sure will.

So I'm going to rewrite the codebase over the next few days to make it more modular, so I can add/tweak features as needed a lot easier and quicker. In the meantime, please continue testing and emailing me any bugs or save games. And based on downloads, there are dozens of you who have tried it without mentioning anything. That's fine, but I sure could use bug information OR positive support if it works right for you :happy:

You can set up automated tests. Get "buggy" save game, convert it and check if converted save contain "proper" strings.

This way you can gather user submitted saves, provide proper save conversions, and then forget about manually checking them ever after. (PS you can also add comments in those buggy save games describing what is wrong with them, so you do not need to keep track about them at all).

1) The main issue people are having is the converter assumes all expansions are present. That's not fair to you, AND it's an issue I can't detect (since I don't know what you have) - call it case-bias (it works on my machine!!!;)). [przemo_li - I am using unit testing on my home machine, but I'm not pushing those to the repo to avoid confusion]. As a result, I'm working on one-time configuration check to make sure your converted file has tags your game will recognize. That's my #1 focus right now (and one I hope to have resolved by the end of the week).

2) The current release requires Ruby to run. It's easy to get, fun to use, etc. etc., but I realize some people don't want the hassle of that. Hence my work on a C++ port, parallel to version 2, which is a complete rewrite of the codebase so to ease the transition when EU4 comes out. This should be finished by the time EU4 drops.

3) My long-term plan is a monolithic program that will work for any Paradox game to the next (based on current games and new ones). Drop in a V2 game, get a HOI3 game. A CK2 game, get a EU3 or EU4 game (your choice), etc. That's long-term though.

i have a problem.... i converted a game where I am ireland and all the provinces that i controlled from ck2 will never become core provinces becuase the day that is converts says january 1, 51....is there something i can do to fix this?
