This is an outrage. Where is the Middle Persian translation, huh? I cannot believe you are prioritising Latin over the superior Sassanid tongue.
.
Sorry, but you lost all credibility at the end there. Why would anyone want to read Swedish?if these prove successful we might even go so far as translating the game into Swedish...
Finally!... It's not the Italian translation I was hoping for, but still a step in that directionSalvete!
Today we will be talking a little bit more about our upcoming CKII translations plans. Until recently our four core languages of English, French, Spanish and German have been enough to cover most of our player base however we are seeing a pressing need for a fifth supported language: Latin.

Latin is a language over a thousand years old with literally hundreds of speakers around the world. It is truly an incredible oversight that we have not already translated the game into the official language of the Holy See and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Now we know exactly what you are thinking: ‘Why are you translating the game into contemporary Latin and not Medieval Latin?’ Believe me, this has been an ongoing discussion within the team for weeks, factions formed, friendships were lost but eventually it was decided that to reach the frankly vast community of Latin speakers around the globe it had to be contemporary Latin.
At over eight hundred thousand words translating the entirety of CK2 is no small feat, luckily we have acquired the help of several Latin experts who surprisingly had nothing more pressing to be doing. Assuming this translation is as popular as we imagine it will be we also have plans to translate the game into Medieval Hebrew and Ancient Norse, if these prove successful we might even go so far as translating the game into Swedish...
We hope you enjoy these changes, or should I say "Ceterum autem censeo Carthaginem delendam esse".
Classical Latin is horrible to write, putting a space between words wasn’t invented until the Carolingian era, not to mention minuscule! The most common phrases are routinely shortened to just the first letters, e.g. SPQR.
So I also agree, modern Latin is superior, totes FTW.
Why does Klingon need UTF8 support? There is no Klingon charset in UTF8.What about Klingon, the language of modern... scholars? Wouldn't that be a better choice than Latin?
Or is the lack of UTF8 support the only reason why klingon can't be implemented?
Ok real talk: I get that this is an april fools joke but as a Latin student and enthusiast, I'd gladly pay $5 for Latin Language DLC.
