Greetings!

We’re happy to let you know that the patch we’ve been working on since the release of the Great Works update will be available on Thursday next week, May 16. We thank you for your patience, and without further ado, we would like to present the patch notes for more details.

In response to some of the feedback we got last week on the Court Improvements, we have also been able to make sure that going over the soft limit (on the number of courtiers you can house) is accompanied by a small prestige gain. All in all, we look forward to you trying it out and letting us know what you think. :)

That’s all for now, but we’ll be back next week with another dev diary for some things to come. Stay tuned!

P.S We have started streaming again now on Thursdays, 16:00 CEST.

Very good decisions on court size.

Indirectly related to court size and considering the future, I'd like to suggest that you implement a more strict invitation model for courtiers to join the player's court. Right now it's easy for anyone to have very good councillors, always. Part of the problem stems of the fact that is too easy to find interested characters and the other part, possibly more important, lies in the range that is applied to the search. Even a reduced diplomatic range is far too big for this search. I find it off putting that characters thousands of km away could easily be invited into the player's service through a standard mechanic. I would leave these particular cases for events, like the eunuchs or the jews have right now.

Man, that is a lot of Patch notes- well done, CK2 Dev team!

I wasn't expecting this to drop so quickly, not sure I will be able to wrap up all my existing games by then. Any advice from the dev team on how an existing save will be affected by the changes in the tech categories? Will it try to convert your existing tech levels into the new categories, or will the new categories just be defaulted to zero?

And thanks for fixing the secret religion conversion issues- I like to think my bug reports made a difference!

Awesome and thanks!
Couple things though. Can you have a Great Fortress and Walls at not such a high level (4 for each)? Or perhaps Keeps at 4 for Fortress and construction at 4 for walls only instead of both. This makes it so that you can only build these in late game. Doesn’t help the people that like the earlier start dates.
Also, any chance the bloodline of Alexander not being available for Iranian culture group characters be changed so that they can get them? I mean he did marry a Persian princess after all and rampaged through Persia. Or perhaps change for them to immortal blood of Cyrus?
Lastly, why is it that Iranian commanders don’t have the swarm and retreat tactic of Altaics when they literally invented it (please refer to “the Parthian shot”). Or just change the retinue of iranians to catapharcts since they again invented it.

Is there a fix for that bug where the father didn't contribute any influence to the stat development of a non-bastard child?

- Fixed issue where an unlanded feudal character would sometimes change their government to theocracy when granted a county.
Has the republic version of this been fixed as well?

What's with the sudden 'free feature' lately, without accompanying DLC? I mean, Great Works could be a DLC but you guys giving it for free instead, and now we get (tiny) new feature again :D
