CK2: Dev Diary #117 - Historical Wonders

Hello, builders, architects and peasants.

Today we will be telling you about the Historical Great Works that already exist in game. Of course there are so many Great Works that it would have been hard to fit them all in so we have chosen just a select few.

We also decided not to place a Great Work in Constantinople. The walls are already represented in game, and this will give the player a chance to build their own Great Work there. Also adding historical Great Works is rather easy via modding so you can set up the exact type of Great Work you want!

So without further ado I present the historical Great Works present at the 769 game start:

Great Works in EU4
The thousands of ducats that the rulers invest in the foundations of the Great Works are investments that will have effects for ages. To make sure this characterizes your realm even more, we’ve made sure to transfer these feats when we’re converting save games from CK2 to EU4.

The rule is that every Great Work that has completed its final stage will be represented by a permanent province modifier in a converted EU4 game. By default we also ignore any historical Great Works that were present at the start of the campaign of CK2 but that rule is easily changed by modifying a value in the defines file before converting.

Different types of province modifier will apply depending on the type of Great Work it originated from. The following list will define the effects of the fully completed Great Works in converted EU4 games:

Will it be possible to remake
Konark Sun Temple or mausoleum as christian cathedral?
Common great mocque as cathedral?
Will they save their original look with new functions?

P.s. agree about st. Sofia. We need it.

@Tuscany

Just a thought, but why not make all current Wonders that exist at the time be level 4? The 5th level (which is as expensive as upgrading all of it from tiers 1-5) be an option to "restore" the ancient Wonder back to its glory. This way when you convert into EU 4 anyone who's fully restored an already existing wonder can get it, and you can add the Hagia Sophia, etc. to Constantinople.

Also the same thing can be done with the Wall stretching across Scotland and England (Forget its name), and the Halicarnassus can even be dropped to level 1 or 2 since I believe around this time it was mostly destroyed.

The Pyramids could be a level 4 with a super expensive level 5 restoring its original white outer lining, and gold capped tip which many believe they used to have, which would be insanely expensive of course.

Feel like it would be a small yet immersive touch to this already awesome free update since it would reflect the state of how they were around the time you're dealing with them.

Edit:

Forgot to add also while its awesome we can so easily edit this stuff in ourselves, I like to work towards achievements, and play Ironman etc, which all becomes either impossible or pointless using mods.

What do you think Petra is? The famous image of Petra is simply the entrance to the underground city.
EDIT: Entrance to the Treasury of Petra Ad Deir (the monastery), my bad

No, that's the entrance to the place where they hold the holy grail.

I'm going to echo several other people: Constantinople should have the Hagia Sophia.

I also think that Hagia Sophia should be a wonder in Constantinople. Maybe a Hellenic ruler can get a decision to burn it if someone wants a more pagan wonder. Same thing with Apostolic Palace in Rome.

Pyramids of Khufu
It's either the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramids of Giza. Only the biggest one is of Khufu. The other two are Khafre and Menkaure.
