CK2 converter problems

Everything else works well [including gameplay], but many nations are only called names such as 'z38' [a letter and then two numbers]. I tried a second time with a different game and the same problem came up. I am on a mac.

I suspect it is a problem with the localization, but when I go to the country localization folder everything check out. EX: The Localization folder seems fine. Code:

I know how to fix this as I just did it on my game:
Find the localisation file that has the Z00 country names you just mentioned in the language you use
Open this file up in a text editor that lets you save/choose your own encoding. You need to make sure this file is UTF-8 encoded.

If you don't know what encoding is, please PM me and I will walk you through this. It is very easy to do all of this but people can get tripped up by the "encoding" part. The game has a bug which will be patched that encodes that file incorrectly.
