I can't seem to raise the Crown Authority of the HRE. As the Emperor, I fulfil all conditions except this one:

Code:
NOT = { empire = { holder_scope = { OR = { character = ROOT is_liege_of = ROOT } } } }

If I'm parsing this correctly, the CA can only be raised if either the Emperor is not your character, or the Emperor is not the liege of your character. Do I have to give away my kingdom titles in the HRE to qualify for that second condition or something?

Edit:\/ Alright, thanks for the quick reply.

No, it's a scripting error. Will fix. For now just remove that line.

Again I don't know if this is a vanilla or CK2+ issue but either way it should be fixed. This is the second time now in my game where my direct heir has been murdered by someone at my court and there was no means of righteous imprisonment or anything. They just get away with no consequences at all. If someone orders the murder of your direct heir that should be a 100% no penalty imprisonment/execution. I don't see how anyone, even by modern day standards, could think of imprisoning and even executing the person that murders the son and direct heir of a king as an act of tyranny.

edit: I think a good fix is that anyone with the Dishonorable trait on their character is free game for imprisonment and execution similar to excommunicated characters.

Hey,

I originally posted this in the discussion thread:

Hey,

Recently downloaded this mod (it's awesome, btw) but I am getting a CtD at a certain date just after an autosave. Can't nail the date down exactly but it's happened twice now. This is with the latest version of both CK2 and CK2+. Just pops up saying 'CK2 has stopped working.'. I'm guessing it's to do with the mod because I've never had a problem with CK2 before.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm playing as Curonians. Year is roughly 1094.

Thanks.

I was told to grab your email address from this thread and send the save to you. This thread re-directs to the readme, but I cannot for the life of me find the email address you mentioned. I'm either blind or stupid - could you point me in the right direction? :)

Thanks.

-edit: Sigh, ignore me. Found the email. I'll send you a message with the problem I am having.

-edit #2: I've somehow managed to get to the next autosave with no crash - I have been quicksaving every month and so far (6 months after last autosave) there has been no crash. It may be worth checking the autosave I sent you anyway, because it may be a bug I haven't been able to replicate the 3rd time round.

The building destroyed in a siege event (#1059008) has a problem in that it doesn't necessarily target the owner of the holding under siege. This can lead to buildings being lost in holdings belonging to the besieger or neutrals, which doesn't seem WAD. For example, I own a county; one castle is this county is owned by a foreign power. I used the county claim cb to claim this castle. During the siege, the event fired, and a building in my castle rather than the enemy castle was destroyed.

I'm not sure if there's any way to fix this and have the event continue to fire randomly at any point during the siege (i.e. keep it in on_siege_pulse). But, you could move the event into on_siege_lost, and then it would target the holding owner.

theres an error in the demense_laws.txt under feudal_tax_3 that will cause it to reset laws on a reload

potential = {
NOT = { has_law = feudal_tax_3 }

the NOT = { has_law = feudal_tax_3 } needs to be cut to prevent that

I'm no longer getting the melting pot events as an Occitan vassal of England in de jure France, but I'm still seeing my courtiers convert en-mass to English. My children are born Occitan and within a few months they switch to English.

I'm not seeing what would cause this in the melting pot events, unless perhaps any_courtier doesn't test for courtiers who have you as their liege, but just courtiers at the same court as you. In that case, perhaps my English courtiers are converting my Occitan courtiers without my seeing the event fire. I'm going to experiment with it.

EDIT: Yep, the make my court speak english event was somehow targeting my courtiers. I added a requirement that the liege be english, and it stopped the mass-switch of my courtiers. Odd, but I guess any_courtier doesn't just target your courtiers.

Below's the fixed event:

Code:
#Make my court speak English
character_event = {
	id = 55004
	desc = "EVTDESC55004"
	picture = GFX_evt_throne_room

	trigger = {
		year = 1100
		culture = english
		any_courtier = {
			is_ruler = no
			prisoner = no
			liege = { culture = english }
			OR = {
				culture = saxon
				culture = norman
				culture = frankish
				culture = occitan
			}
		}
	}

	mean_time_to_happen = {
		months = 60
		modifier = {
			factor = 0.5
			year = 1150
		}
		modifier = {
			factor = 0.5
			year = 1200
		}
	}

	option = {
		name = "EVTOPTA55004"
		random_courtier = {
			limit = {
				is_ruler = no
				prisoner = no
				liege = { culture = english }
				OR = {
					culture = saxon
					culture = norman
					culture = frankish
					culture = occitan
				}
			}
			culture = english
			hidden_tooltip = {
				character_event = { id = 55006 days = 3 }
			}
		}
	}
}

Tiny issue here: Guilhem VIII of Aquitaine is 2 years older than he should be at the game start. I noticed this because his brother Guilhem VII is supposed to be older.

ck2_1.jpg

The game lists him as 43, which would make him born in 1023, but in real life he was born in 1025.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_VIII_of_Aquitaine

Thanks :)

Bug with Jihads:
Normally, non-Christian characters cannot create (or usurp) titles like king of Portugal, Leon, Castille, etc. The muslims, if they jihad for such a title, will acquire it. Seems a bit gamey - I'd propose either making these king titles creatable by anyone or preventing the muslims from gaining them if they win a jihad for one of them. Same issue with Jerusalem, if I'm not mistaken.

Not sure if this is also an issue with vanilla or not.

This same kind of CTD happened to me as well, and is still happening. Around the 25th of July in 1075 I just get booted out, and so far have tried thrice. Going to give it a couple more goes, see if I can get past it as you have.

EDIT: Wasn't working while I was trying my July Autosave, but I have it set to Monthly. Tried out my June autosave and there was no issue whatsoever. Possibly some event that was trying to trigger. :/

I have a similar problem. Playing as the Norman d'Hauteville emperor of the Outremer Empire my character's children keep changing to English culture from Norman. It doesn't affect my landed vassals though.
Since I don't know how to fix the code I'll refrain from tampering with the files.

I've managed to get past it, well into the 1100's now. I think it's just random as it has happened again. I simply reload and start quicksaving and it stops. I'm guessing some form of corrupted saves or some event trigger that doesn't agree. Still, I've emailed the save anyway so hopefully the problem can be found.

I think something odd is going on with Crusader States -- last night, I formed the independent states of Jerusalem and Egypt as a designed ruler dynasty, the king of Wales, England, and Ireland, using the choice to put a family member in charge. After reloading the game this morning, in the dynasty tree, MY character is now on the far left of the screen, and while still counted as the head of the dynasty, the king of Egypt is now counted as its founder, and is the root of the tree. My family no longer has a branched tree, and in addition, the dynasty screen is incredibly laggy. Version 1.25.2, new save started on this version.

Armenians are the only culture that don't have an option to build culture-specific buildings. This puts Armenians somewhat in disadvantage considering that all other cultures have their versions of the buildings ready to be build in their castle holdings.

I have run across a few issues, though I'm not sure if it is from CK2+ or the Kingdoms (and Empires) Abound Titular Title Generator mod.

Basically I started as a count in southern France and worked my way up to two duchies and as that was the setting in the Titular Title mod I made a kingdom (it replaced the De Jure). However, I'm notified when France and Aragon change their crown law and it forces some of my Demese laws down from say high city tax to medium. Also, looking through the files I didn't see why it would be lowering laws on crown changes since I removed the requirements from the mid level Demese laws. So I can go up to medium city taxes without being a kingdom, yet if I do and crown authority changes, then the law goes down.

Suggestion: how about different versions of English culture in different culture groups (like what the mod does for Sicilian)?

Currently the 2 versions of English (English and English-Norse) are both inside the West Germanic group. This has the odd effect of making Anglo-Norman or Anglo-Norse characters regard the Dutch as less foreign than their Norman or Scandinavian cousins. In terms of gameplay, this means that a King of England who has territories in both England and Scandinavia or France, will 1) almost never hand out the Scandinavian/French titles to vassals with the culture of the territory in question (because of how the maintenance events favor same culture group), 2) face more rebellions in their ancestral homeland than they would in the Netherlands, and 3) rarely intermarry with their Scandinavian/French vassals. All of these seem like undesirable outcomes to me.

So, I'd suggest either moving English into the Latin group, and English_Norse into the North_Germanic group, or making 3 versions of English:
  1. Anglo-Norman in the Latin Group. This would represent the early norman-saxon hybrid culture, and would replace English in the melting pot events.
  2. Anglo-Norse in the North Germanic Group. This would represent a hypothetical early stage in norse-saxon amalgamation, and would replace English Norse in the melting pot events.
  3. English in the West Germanic Group. This would represent a latter stage in both cultural mixings, and would be triggered by another set of melting pot events that would happen later in the game.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but it seems like there are no lovers appearing in the latest version 1.25.2. I've pored over characters for 10 minutes and haven't found a single one who has a lover, or a single bastard born since 1066 (its about 1120 now).

EDIT: I did a fresh install of both CK2 and CK2+, started a new game and the problem persists, so I think it has to be a bug.

Haven't had this issue, but I do have Ad Limina and a title mod on.

I've only just started (it's 1101 in my game), but so far I noticed that there are very few lifestyle traits around compared to the unmodded game. I scanned the character list for the entire map and it seems like almost no one has any lifestyle traits. I saw a few duelists, one celibate, and nothing else. In my own realm (Tuscany, 9 counties total) there is only one character with a lifestyle, a duelist.

I can't tell what's going on from the event file other than that the prerequisites have been changed from vanilla, so I can't really tell from that if it's working as intended. Are these traits supposed to be this rare? It seems kind of strange for there to be no falconers, mystics, etc. in all of Europe.
