CK2 2.0.4 Crash to Desktop

I'm having an issue, which just popped up today, where CK2 is always crashing to the desktop. Whenever I start the game up, and it starts trying to load the map for the menu screen, it crashes just as it starts to load. I've tried it modded, vanilla, with different levels of updates, and it does the same thing every time.

Have you tried to use Steam to verify integrity of game cache?

If so, try the following:
Make sure to backup any potential save games you would like to save first.

-Remove your Crusader Kings II folder at "My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II"
-Do a clean re-install of Crusader Kings II
-When starting the game, make sure you don't have any mods active

I completely deleted the Paradox folder, and it didn't do anything to fix it when I installed. I've since used the 2.1.4 (the latest, I think the number is right) vanilla version, with the Dynamic Duchies and another submod, and it's been working.
