I've had CK shelved for a long time, and just decided to play it again today. I installed it and applied the 1.05 patch, but when I start the program, it crashes to desktop without any error message. I then uninstalled and reinstalled CK to try running the clean 1.00, but the same thing happened.
Specifically, it crashes after the intro videos, and about half way through the starting load, around the time it says "initializing sound". I don't know if that means it's the sound system that's causing problem, and I don't have any problem with my system's sound otherwise.
How can I solve this problem? Is there a way to see a detailed log or some such that would help me diagnose this?
