Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
As seen in this save, the problem is that the war leader is shown as Prince Iakov, this is incorrect.

The faction war was actually started by yevpraxia of karelia. When she died, prince iakov became the war leader. However, she is NOT actually the attacker leader as defined in the save.

This is the save :

Code:
casus_belli={
				type="claimant_faction_war"
				scope={
					root={
						type=cb
						identity=18446744073256566785
					}
					seed=591447340
				}
				targeted_titles={ 2721 }
				attacker=16880378
				defender=16886785
				claimant=16875661
			}

As you can see, the attacker leader is actually character 16880378, or Malfrida of Ruthenia. However if you go to the war screen, you can clearly see that the war leader is listed as Iakov. In other words, when the original war leader died, the next war leader was set incorrectly.

One effect of this is that if a liege wants to force their vassal to stop the war, they would have to talk to malfrida instead of iakov.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game

I have uploaded a second save here which is before the faction war started. Swap to yevpraxia of karelia, press demands, then kill the character off. Iakov will become war leader, but the actual war will be malfrida.

And here is the problem :

Mousing over the war shows that the queen of norway is defending against malfrida....

But the war screen claims that iakov is the war leader, which is obviously not correct :

Hello Question!

Thank you for your report. Unfortunately we cannot help you with modded save files or games that are running mods. If this issue replicates when not running mods or attempting to load a modded save, please make a new thread for it.

Um, this is not a mod issue. As far as i can tell, its not even possible to mod the way war leaders are set when the previous war leader dies (and i have not modded anything like that obviously).

Can you please at least load the attached save to see the problem...i think you will figure out pretty quickly that this is not a mod issue. You can easily replicate the conditions in a vanilla game using the console so I dont see the problem.

Considering that ive been posting detailed bug reports here and included code fixes for several issues already, the least you can do is help look into the issues. If you are going to tell me that you cant be bothered to look into them because ive been modding the game to fix bugs, then im just going to stop spending hours testing and posting detailed bug reports here...something that paradox testers get paid for i might add (and which i do not).

If the issue is caused by a mod, thats fair, paradox should not be trying to fix that. But if you have done any modding or coding yourself, you should be able to tell that the war leader in the save file and the war leader shown on the UI are supposed to be the same and this isnt caused by a mod.

It is grossly unfair to simply say "oh the save is modded so nope we wont accept the bug report" and trivalizes the amount of time and effort that some of us have been spending tracking down bugs, detailing them and literally giving you free code fixes.

I should add that for this particular bug report, i spent over an hour testing it, writing up the report, taking screenshots, opening up the save game to double check the war leader, etc. To throw everything down the drain and not even attempt to load the save, replicate the issue with the console or understand the issue which I described feels like a slap in the face.
