Short summary of your issue Tanistry is terrible in its current form

Game Version 1.1

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled? No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
5

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Tanistry, in its current form, only sends your primary title to god knows where. If I choose say a good person who isnt my son to rule, and get him voted up and have all my vassels support him. He gets nothing besides a single county. He should atleast get more than nothing practically, and ideally get all the titles, since tanistry is supposed to be an alternative to gavelkind. Sorry If I seem mega butthurt. I hope that adding this may in some way get it changed. If this just goes to some person whose whole job is to respond to bug notices sorry, you think you could redirect this or something or maybe give me a better spot to suggest the change? Even letting the devs know of my opinion on it would be nice. Even if nothing changed.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Play as Ireland and get tanistry on your title.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
No

I have attached a save game
No

It got me confused at first too, but Elective Heirs does not change the underlying Inheritance type.
It merely changes how the Heir is choosen. Also, since the Heir has to be of your dynasty and they should become the most powerfull Dynasty member by default, you should be able to stay in Power.

Wich does make it kind "Meh", especially as Irish who can use Monasticism to get rid of extra heirs.

Hi Mokerak!

It looks like the situation you're describing is actually working correctly, Tanistry is affecting only the chosen title. So if you choose Tanistry for the Kingdom of Ireland title then it will only affect the kingdom title and not any other titles you may have owned. Those will still be affected by your realm's Succession Law, you can check it in Inheritance tab in the Realm View. Thank you for your report nonetheless!

tanistry is a special law of succession. And indeed it only goes for the kingdom. Meaning the dude you voted for already had a county in the first place. But got elected through tanistry to be king of ireland.
He will not recieve anything more than the title "king" since those other titles are yours and under another type of succession.

So you son. instead of being king of ireland is gonna be dutchy of "main title" and you will be able to see a dude. With low army. (since he was a count) loosing bits by bits or territory your ancestor got earlier.
Fucking useless succession law. I always delete those making the title go to my heir.
