Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Playing as King A, I imprison a character (let's call him PRISONER). Ten years pass, King A dies, and his son, King B, takes the throne. King B takes stock of his prison, and being more Generous and Honest than King A, decides to release some unimportant prisoners. PRISONER was imprisoned by King A for a decade, and by King B for a few days, before being released without condition.
PRISONER decides that King B is his new rival, because he "Languished in King B's prison". But this is obviously not what happened.
The trouble is that the game apparently checks the total length of prison stay, and assigns it all to the current ruler. We have memories now which can determine when the character was imprisoned and by whom. The rivalry system should check and see who was responsible for the prisoner, and not assume it was the person who happened to release them.
Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Imprison a character, wait for your ruler to die, and then have your successor release the imprisoned character.
Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
I have attached a save game after the rivalry was formed, and a screenshot showing the chronology of events.
I have attached a save game
Yes
